That's the thing though the slow cooker steams the potato you don't get a crunchy crust like I do when I run it under water and put it in the oven. Nobody needs oil or salt or trays or anything else to bake potatoes. Just pick them wash them first leave them wet and put them on the rack of a 400 degree heated oven. You will get the crunchiest skins you've ever had if like we up in the Northeast like to eat the skins after the potatoes gone with a little butter salt and pepper on them!

I had a grocery delivery order from Walmart for today. It was 11 items and they told me some things were unavailable so I went to my order. Nine items have been taken off! And I didn't really want to bother with a delivery of salami and chopped him. Dropped him sliced sandwich meat not a can of chopped ham. Or that I can what's it called potted meat!! I have enough in this house to feed the neighborhood for 2 years! My grandson wants to help me make macaroni and cheese tomorrow and what I'll do is freeze one and they can take one home but he wants hot dogs and this is like the first time I have no hot dogs!

2nd comment: Made the caramelized onions a few days ago and they were superb!! I will never cook caramelized onions on the stove again if I can help it. Made onion soup last night w/ beef broth and a splash of sherry as she suggested and the soup was restaurant quality.

When the pandemic first started, some non-profit organizations had access to government food. I was given a box that had a huge sack of onions. I can't stand raw onions, didn't know what to do with that many onions, but had the genius idea of French onion soup. Wow, used all of the onions and froze the leftovers. One of my successful cooking experiences.

Absolutely do not use the plastic slow cooker liners! They are expected to be pulled off the market very very soon be very soon! Use one of those those "non stick" propellant sprays instead instead but don't use the plastic liners.
