Best Buy dates expiration dates are smart for the companies. They want you to toss it out and buy more even though the USDI says it's good indefinitely if it's stored properly and there's no compromise to the cans

Everything doesn't fair well after it's expiration date the same. I notice when chips get close to their expiration date they begin to get stale. And recently I noticed some wheat cereal had a strong cardboard smell, and when I checked the date, it was 6 months past its date. However, in an SHH!t an hit the fan moment, the concerns now won't matter.

I didn't see an email address for you and I have a couple of questions. First, why do I not get alerts when subscribed? Why am I removed from subscribing randomly (Yours is not the only channel, nor am I the only one bringing up the subject). Finally, need an expert answer. My girlfriend's Mom just pasted away and when cleaning everything out, she found meat in the freezer, frozen solid! The date it was frozen stated 10 years ago! My girlfriend said she could thaw it our and use it in a crackpot stew. I HAVE NO IDEA. Is meat frozen for that long g still SAFE to eat? I'm saying no. What is your opinion? 🌼

Greetings from South Africa! We appreciate everything we can learn from your very informative channel! I just want to find out if your books are also for sale here in South Africa? Would love to know. Please keep up the good work — many of us are also prepping very seriously as we also expect SHTF very soon here! The present government has caused our beloved country to go down the drain since 1994 when they came into power. Our Electricity Supply Commission (ESCOM) is basically bankrupt due to severe corruption as in most of our other state controlled institutions! Even our Post Office is barely functioning; the pride of our nation used to be our South African Airways which is now also gone down the drain! This used to be a First World country but has now deteriorated to a Third World country! Very sad indeed!
Nevertheless, be trust in the future and believe that God Almighty allows all of these things to happen for a purpose. Please pray for our country.
    Happy prepping!!!

A few months ago I pulled a tube of ground turkey sausage out of my freezer with a best by date of 2015! I cooked it up and it was absolutely fine. I do find that cans will pull tops don't last as long as other cans. They take on a tinny taste very early on.

Could you talk more about your experience with Christian Healthcare Ministries? I would love to know! We are having to make insurance decisions in October and I'm considering switching… our insurance is so expensive and I'm still paying a lot out of pocket!

Thanks again for your live & more tips! Good tip about the hard candies… it's going on my list! I'm not supposed to have sugar either & can't stand the fake sweeteners. I've discovered that honey is safest for me. 🥰 Blessings from South Australia💕🐨

Thank you as usual, great advice 👍
When I first began stockpiling/prepping, I made the"rookie" mistake of buying items(mostly canned) that we don't usually eat. So I need to figure out how to incorporate these items into our regular eating🫤
(BTW: love your top- colors are pretty)

If you look up Pomona's Pectin, it is special pectin made from citrus fruit. It looks expensive compared to sure jell but it uses so little per batch, that in reality, it isn't costly at all. Esp when you factor the higher cost of speciality jams. If you do the math, it does come out cheaper assuming you already own jars. My point with that is, it is pectin that does NOT rely on sugar to gel. The normal Sure Gels, even the lower sugar variety, does. For me, that is still too much sugar.

This pectin is different and doesn't require sugar at all. It lets you use a wide variety of low sugar or NO sugar options. Sweetening with juice only is an option. Their website has information and a lot of recipes that would fit what you asked for. They sell a book with the recipes too, but I think everything is available online too if you don't mind printing them off.

I bought the stuff last year because I am diabetic and I also eat keto. I wanted a true NO sugar option. In my case, I don't even really want to use juice. But that pectin lets me make an extremely low carb jam/jelly and it comes out nice. The strawberry jam I made this year is wonderful and doesn't mess with my blood glucose at all.

I wish my husband would listen to your videos. He s all about stockpiling but buys stuff we dont eat. 🤦‍♀️ Its frustrating, he just says, you'll eat it if there is nothing else. Well yes, but why not get what we like instead.
It's more than stockpiling, it's about trying to maintain some form of normalcy and comfort as well.

Luden's cough drops are similar to a cherry hard candy. When I figured that out, I started stocking a variety of hard candies from wincos bulk bins, especially mint, cinnamon and cherry candies. They are way cheaper.
