Easy quick baked potato. Cut a slit in the potato as usual. Wash it. Put it in a ziplock baggy but don’t close all the way. Place in microwave for 3 minutes. Turn over and cook 3 more minutes. Depends on the size of the potato. When you can squeeze the sides and it gives it’s done.
For coronation chicken I would use a bit of added soured cream and some lemon juice to lift the sauce and make it less mayonaisy. I always add a little bit of mango chutney for extra fruitiness. My go to mix for spice is a korma mix. And we don't usually chop our chicken quite so small. This is also a favourite sandwich filling, which I think is how it was first envisioned for the original coronation celebrations, as street parties were a massive thing in towns at the time. Also really good as a toasted sandwich.
Coronation chicken is often made with cream and a bit of mango chutney or apricot jam. It also often has flaked almonds in. I hate chunks of apricot in it! I love it in a jacket potato though! I’ve never made it with mayo, always cream or yogurt
This is how we eat baked potatoes in our family (in Finland) 2 sourcream sauces other with salmon and other with ham and then a side of simple salad with lettuce, red onion, cucumber, frozen peas and corn and some mini tomatoes❤

A small tip (idea ) for your potato party .. wrap your potatoes in foil (I like a drizzle of olive and sea salt on them ) place in the crockpot for a few hours . You can fill it up with potatoes. They are so soft and yummy !!!
We have baked potatoes quite often and I'm always looking for new ways to top them and now I have ideas. Thank you for this trip around the world.
Made the Polish one tonight. YUM. ☺️ …but I trusted Google & subbed ricotta for farmers cheese, and I think that next time I would use something with stronger flavour instead. Really good though! ❤
Beryl… as a tamilian I can tell u Kari is the word we have and it literally translates to meat… Kari doesn't mean sauce in tamil. In punjabi they have a word called kadi (not sure if it means sauce) and in malayalam all gravies are called curry since times unknown… so yeah definitely tamils didnt have anything to do with the word "curry" infact we call all gravies either kolambu or thokku
Sometimes watching cooking shows I think I must be the only person in the world that despises shrimp.
Spring baked potato party!? I’m doin it! 🎉
Last year for my birthday party I did a baked potato bar and was so fun and pretty easy! Some of the potatoes were sweet potatoes too, which could be eaten sweet or savory. Toppings included cheese and sour cream, green onions, bacon, black beans, tahini, butter, and brown sugar
When we got married in the mid-00s, THE hot hip "budget" (so buffet not sit-down meal) wedding catering option was either a baked potato or mashed potato bar (and if it was mashed, they were served in martini glasses, so fancy and…disgusting, don't eat mash out of clear glass). If only the options had been anything like these, we might have gone for it.
So it's not a thing from my country
BUT….
Sloppy Joe Stuffed Potato with cheddar cheese is practically a God sent….♥
Beryl the whovian?!?!?! LOVE IT!!
There MUST be a sweet baked potato recipe in the world….let’s find it! Anyone?
Faster baked potatoes: Heat oven to 400f. Coat your potato in oil and salt and puncture with a fork on either side. Microwave until liquid starts to sputter out of the puncture marks and the skin is mildly wrinkled 5-6 min for two potatoes? Transfer to oven for 20-30 min.
Out of the many things I want to say. Try frying the potato after removing the pulp of course. Use a bit of salt, pepper, and butter the result will be great with the other dishes. Then use the mixings from the other places.
I just get so so so proud when you like a Brazilian dish.
And catupiry just goes well on everything. Try it on toast or any pate or burger or hot dogs…

I have a hankering to try the swedish version, but using salmon instead of shrimp.
How is Beryl not at 1M subscribers yet? That seems wrong.
Regarding the Swedish one: in Northern Germany, we do it without Dill, but with the smaller North Sea Shrimp, which are WAY more intense in taste… and a bit expensive.
I have done a "Baked potato party" like that, except it was a Hotdog party. With hotdog ingredients/stuffings from all around the world 🙂 Always a good idea!
