I am laughing right now because I said my cream sauce is usually potatoes + corn in the voice over!! 😂 clearly I am sleep deprived it’s corn + 1 can of white beans!! Happy Saturday everyone!
I can't wait to try these recipes! Always enjoyable!
I think it's good if a meal doesn't turn out exactly as you planned, because you always then start thinking of different ways you could do it the next time which then expands your knowledge and creativity, so that's not a fail at all!
Straight away you knew to add more sauce so you were able to adjust it, so as long as you enjoyed it then that's the main thing, and like you said even if it's not perfect you'll still eat it but may either do it differently the next time or not make it again, but the point is that these situations get you thinking and creating. 🙂
Glad too to hear your experience with the lasagna noodles, I also think the ones that you cook first are a lot better, as the ones you put in dry often turn out a bit chewy in texture or even worse aren't cooked properly on the edges or just cook unevenly, so cooking first definitely gives better results.
You can also partially cook them, say halfway, and then put them in your dish before going into the oven, and the liquid in the dish as someone said below, will finish the cooking process to avoid them being too overcooked or mushy.
I did a meal prep yesterday based around two of your budget challenge videos, making your other cheese sauce with potatoes and carrots, which is probably why you said that. 🙂 Also made french black lentils, rice, roasted cauliflower and broccoli, tomato sauce with mushrooms and jacket baked potatoes. Going to have fun mixing and matching and lovely to know my meals for the next 5 days are taken care of, thanks! 🙂
Thanks for showing us some meals using items bought from your last shop, good to see what it turns into.
Thank you Miranda! Excellent recipes as always! 🌱
I Love your videos!!!!! So glad I found you a few months ago!!! ❤❤❤❤
Hi Miranda. All of your recipes look so easy to make. I must start buying tins of vegetables and legumes to get creative with recipes. Your recipes always look yummy.
The mock cheese sauce should freeze, correct? Will be making the pancakes in the am! Love blueberries and oats. Do you ever use tomato paste? It's pretty cheap and versatile.
Love the style as well as the fact that you flashed the prices that you paid in the beginning!!!
Your cheese sauce recipe may help me get my son to eat more vegan meals. Thanks for sharing it.
These are my favorite types of meals! Thanks so much for easy, affordable, healthy meal ideas! 💗💗💗
Just made the cauliflower and corn sauce except with elbow noodles and peas. Loved it! I just love love love the simplicity and creativity of your recipes. And of course how healthy your recipes are! I think I've made your recipes the most out of any other youtuber! Xxoo
Can’t wait to try that Mac and cheese!!!
Where’s the protein,
I make a very similar spinach pancakes. My recipe calls for apple sauce. I use gluten free oats and it works out great. I'll try the blueberry sauce on top next time.
Miranda, do you have an 8×8 or 9×13 casserole dish? I’m just wondering why you’re using the smaller round one for the lasagna. The Mac n cheese looks really good!!!
I love to watch videos that have budget meals, however, the recipes I tend to make are the super simple ones like these. I really appreciate your recipes!
You wanna talk about failures?!?1 Haha, you should have seen the abominations, unto all that is culinarily holy, I created while trying to perfect my veggie burger recipe! Some are buried in the back yard, and I get a priest to bless the vege-burger graveyard every year, so they don't come back as zombies. 🍔😱
I just finished eating one my favorite, ultra simple meals. V8+4 Soup (carrots, red bell peppers, onions, and celery, cooked in V8 Juice and some extra water) with potatoes. That's it! No spices, no additional salt, nothing else. It's a very mild and sweet soup, in fact the carrots were almost overwhelmingly sweet. A good soup for the uninitiated, little kids, the infirm, and the very elderly, too:) The reason I like it so much, aside from the deliciously delicate flavors, is that it really tones my appetite down, giving me a deep and long lasting sense of complete satisfaction:)
You have such great ideas, I can't wait to try them. Could you show pictures of the meals plated? I would love to see what that potato veggie lasagna looked like when it was finished and plated. Thanks for the great content!
I made the corn cheese sauce and poured it over potatoes and greens…DELICIOUS! It a new staple recipe for me. Can’t wait to try the other recipes in this video. 🙂
Love this style of recipe video!
Yes, I like these budget friendly meals! I also like videos where it's dump and go.
It's never a fail. You learn something every time. It all looked good to me!
Great ideas,, it inspires me to come up with new ways to cook
