When I was younger, my uncle married a girl whose family was Russian. They had a dish similar to the chicken recipe you did, except it was made with pork. Try it…you won't be disappointed. I make it and feed it to my family now, and they love it.

I would love to have the Pinto beans & cornbread but my husband won't eat beans.
We had a family reunion as a kid, I live in Ohio but it was in Indiana with ancestors who came from the south.
It They rented out a family group camp at a state park over Labor Day Wknd.
Sat night was always Pinto Beans & Cornbread! They cooked in an industrial kitchen so the soup pots were huge & the pans were as big as size of full sheet cake. Some thanks for the memories!
Question for anyone who might read this.
We always called them soup beans , is that a southern term & is there difference from bean soup? I always thought soup beans were thicker than a soup. Any thoughts?
Thanks Mandy for another great video

We just had Mabel White’s chicken over rice for lunch. Wow! Have to admit, I was skeptical. I don’t like Russian dressing , but the combination of flavors was perfection!

My sister-in-law uses Accent in everything! I don’t because every time I eat a anything with MSG in it I get a really bad migraine headache!! I used to have migraines a lot, but thank goodness I must have outgrown the migraines unless I eat something with MSG!! I read all labels on soups that I buy and any kind of dips that you can buy at the store. Lots of things has MSG in it. My younger sister has had migraines also & MSG is a big trigger for most people that has migraines.
Thank you for these recipes! I have also made Pinto Beans in my InstaPot/Pressure Pot!! I’m like your husband…I grew up on Pinto Beans, Cornbread & Fried Potatoes!! I make enough beans to last several days. When I make a pan of cornbread we eat it the first day, then for lunch the next day I’ll crumble some of the cornbread up in a cereal bowl and pour milk over it and eat it for a quick lunch. Then for supper with the beans I put enough butter in a skillet (I use my cast iron skillet) to cover the bottom, then I cut the cornbread in half (length wise) and place the inside of the cornbread down on the buttered skillet and fry it until it’s golden brown, then I turn it over and fry it on the other side. Then I put the fried cornbread in the bottom of the bowl and put the beans on top and eat it like that!! Has your husband had it like that before? My Mother used to fix it like that!!
I plan on making the dish that Kathy shared with you that came from Mabel White! That chicken dish looked really good!!
    Thank you,

I love corriander so much, it's my favorite spice. It's citrusy, earthy, and floral all at once. I usually replace half of the cumin in a recipe with it. But I'm really sensitive to cumin. To much of it, and I can't taste much else. I will definitely making those beans and cornbread. I don't know why dry beans intimidate me.
