I have been making dumb cake for decades and I don't use the Crock-Pot or my slow cooker. I use the oven! And everybody seems to forget the pecans half cup chopped or more and I melt my butter and I mix my cake mix with the melted butter so that every granule of the cake mix on top can become Brown and crispy! However I make apple crisps in the fall and winter. I will bake one and put the rest in my big freezer unbaked for later use.

I made this apple dump cake yesterday, I put 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar on top of the apples after I dumped them in and sprinkled the sugar with cinnamon, then the cake mix and butter…so delish…

I make an apple crumble dish which is very popular in my family. I ran out of ice cream one time and served it with vanilla yogurt instead. Turns out the yogurt goes BETTER than ice cream or whipped cream. The slight tartness of the yogurt really complements the sweet apple dish.

I never realized you live in Sacramento. I was born at Mather AFB and raised between West Sacramento Davis and Woodland. I live in Modesto now but I still get homesick sometimes and miss Sac a lot.
