I love this. Such great tips. I would also add to portion out all your meat. If I don’t do that my lovely husband will cook 2 meals
Worth of meat for one meal. This way we can bulk up a meal
With other things and save on meat which is expensive. That being said if anyone can’t think of a hobby, something as easy as babysitting is really an easy way to make some cash. I collect recycling bottles for a bit
Of extra money, 10 cents each and a few friends save them for me, it’s super helpful, especially around birthdays. The last 2 years every present has been bought with my recycled can money

I have been watching your videos since the once a month grocery halls in the farmhouse days! You have taught me so much! I haven’t been able to do the once a month grocery halls because I don’t have a second fridge (yet), but I am in a season of life that is so busy it would be wonderful to only have to shop once a month! Maybe I’ll start shopping for a used fridge! Thanks for all you do to teach us from your life experience!

I love how you went through the whole history of your struggles and triumphs as a young mom learning to feed your family. This was so interesting and heartwarming! And you gave so many helpful tips for families of any size. Thank you, Jamerrill! One thing I have learned from you is cooking up a big batch of meat all at once (I'm single, so for me 3 pounds of ground beef is a big batch!), then using one pound to make a big pot of chili or goulash, and putting the remaining 2 pounds in ziplock bags in the freezer for future meals. And, I don't have to be a large family to enjoy your recipes! 😊

Something I did was buy potatoes in a 56 pound weight bag, then share them with friends. It halved the price for us all. Also asking friends to grab some groceries from the store they were visiting, small amounts obviously so we all save on fuel. Between us ,we all saved money and time. Also share out the Buy one get one free. Half the price and less waste.

Evening Jamerrill, just lessening to you on about making your meals strech brought back memories of do a meal when my 6 children were little ,doing a meal that we could a chuckum. Basically it was the remains of the fridge and freezer witch could be 1,2 sausage if we were lucky we may find a pork chop even a few peas that had fallen out of the bag earlier in the month we would add anything we could find and we managed to get a big meal for all 8 of us from bits that you wouldn't think possible. But we all went to bed with full belly and Happy to get are wages the next morning, as hard as it was ,it was also Happy days.😊

I think what I'm going to try is making homemade tv dinners for the kiddos and I. Since my hubby can't have certain foods due to his IBS. It makes it much harder to cook for everyone. Maybe even make him a few freezer tv dinners with spicy foods that he likes so much. Just gotta get some tupperware bowls since all my glass ones we heat up things in.

As an older woman, I would love to help mom's learn to cook nutritious cheap meals, help with budgeting. So maybe talk with your pastors at church and let the need be known. Grew up learning to cook from scratch, made my own clothes. We didn't go on vacation, we went to the library. Toys were a luxury. But it was ok. The Hillbilly Kitchen is great too as she teaches a lot of depression era cooking. Talk with friends who are struggling too and get together to help one another. I have 2 older friends who help each other clean each other's homes. Baby sit for each other. See if friends children have mom's helpers (children who help a mom with her little ones) so mom can get somethings done. These wonderful kids didn't charge us but used it to gain experience for when they were older to babysit. We need each other, the Lord made us for community!×

You are such a blessing. It makes me want to cry to hear you talk about this journey. You took something that the enemy meant to use to hurt you and that could have left permanent scars and turned it into a ministry and the Lord has blessed you and your family for your faith. It is beautiful to see, Jamerill. I have learned so much from you. One tip that has really helped my family to cut costs has been to eliminate waste! Boil the chicken, reserve the broth, use the bones in the slow cooker a second time for bone broth, give the scraps to chickens to puck over to make eggs for your breakfast!
