This is a great challenge as some people really don’t have a lot of money left for their food budgets. (I certainly remember when we didn’t. I only wish I would have had this for some ideas.) so Falon, I think it’s a great idea to keep doing them.

😘😘😘. DANG…..this was a good idea and brought back so many memories. As a kid I remember counting all the coins in coffee can for potatoes bread and eggs. Thought we were rich if able to get ground beef. Brother and I go to store cus momma needed to tend to little ones BUT do think she was smart. She knew clerk or others take pity on us if not have exact change and they often did. Are a lot of potato soup and dad made eggs in so many ways. Not know we were poor just happy and always looked forward to better weather and more jobs for dad. Fried bologna was bacon on the side and so many onion or tomato sandwiches was the best. Mashed banana and peanut butter together so wouldn’t go through it so fast was a feast for a king. And of course beans bean beans with windows wide open at night. Yup we never knew different but when weather good we ate like everything was a treat and saved for a rainy day again. I grew up and made sure to learn to garden cus things were tight ….. had great goats milk I milked twice a day and made yogurt and cheese every week (kids had allergies to cows milk). And no Titus our milk had no bad taste or a smell….it was very sweet and rich. Falon this was awesome video in many ways and do believe it’s worth doing again. People can learn ya don’t need all the extras that have helped to make so many overweight and not healthy. Biscuits and cornbread can make some great desserts too. Oh boy …..love those Manley breaks too. He’s definitely cuter than the Gerbers baby 👶. Let’s do this again ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘😘😘💕💕💕💕💕

Haven’t had a bologna sandwich in ages – I’d have mustard instead. I used to like cowboy hats (fried bologna with a scoop of mashed potatoes and half’s slice of cheese).

those are the kinds of meal we ate when I was growing up. I hated soup beans but would eat them because my mom wouldn't fix me something else. It was eat it or go hungry. She would make fried potatoes and onions to go with the soup beans and I liked that. My dad hunted and fished so we almost always had deer meat to eat and fresh fish in the spring and summer. Mom and dad always raised a big garden and they also raised chickens mostly for butchering. At times there would be squirrel or rabbit or frog legs to eat. Fresh morel mushrooms was a spring delicacy that we all loved to have.

This was great I definitely think you should do more . Anyway you can think of to save money these days . I mean imagine the savings if you did this challenge at least 1 week a month . I have made a lot out of nothing so it's doable if you can shop right . My go to for at least 2 meals was chicken and rice with cornbread or biscuits and of course beans . Looking forward to seeing more I know once you get going you,ll think of plenty of recipes. Have a wonderful day and God Bless 💖💖

I was raised on beans and cornbread, and fried potatoes and cornbread. You can get really full on those meals. Our money was tight, but we ate these meals because we loved them! Great job on your extreme budget and meals.

You did a really good job!!!! I love pinto beans with onions. You can put dumplings in the beans, too. My mama stretched everything. She creamed corn & peas to make more for our family. She added bread to ground beef to make more. I was an adult before I ate a real hamburger. Beef wasn’t served often. Flat ribs were cooked to make veggie soup.We did have our own hogs, chickens, milk, butter & eggs. We had a garden so that helped a lot. She canned everything she could.
My hubby & I have a garden also. I can & freeze veggies, fruits & berries. Gardens really help but they do keep you busy.
    Good night! See y’all tomorrow!

You know there is a saying, "Hunger is the best sauce." I think it means when you're really hungry, you'll eat what you have and be glad. You came up with lots of good meals, Falon. I told someone about your wonderful peach cobbler. Also, your family were such good sports about this challenge. Thanks so much for sharing. (:
