You say you don't use all white flour, but mix in whole wheat flour. Why use white flour at all? All whole wheat bread is so much healthier.
Btw, sourdough also makes nice pizza dough, and yes, even chocolate cake.
If you start your own, you will probably want to throw out the excess in the beginning, because it is not yet strong enough to bake with. Then start baking things other than bread, because bread using only sourdough needs a very mature, strong sourdough.

I gave up my quest for sourdough because the directions I had were so fussy! It’s more work than my kids😂. But now you’ve inspired me to try again and take the fuss out of the process😊. Thanks

A friend recently gave me some starter. I’ve made biscuits and pancakes with the discard. I will bake a sourdough loaf very soon.
Can’t wait to see what else you’ll produce on sourdough.
    Thank you for this introduction!

Lately I have been thinking about baking with sourdough. I have been making peasant bread and also my bread machine. I am retired so I have plenty of time to let it take its time. Thanks for the great video. Very helpful.

Sourdough is fermented and it's a lot easier on the stomach than cheap bread at the store. Try it reader of this comment. Your stomach won't hurt like with that unfermented bread. I'm sure TTaT will point this out in this video.

U just popped up in my YouTube. That yellow sweater and blue undershirt look really good on. I literally just bought some shredded sharp cheddar cheese at Aldi to put into the freezer b/c of your freezing tips video. I'm going to make some burritos later this week! I bought your book too! I totally trust you b/c you use science and speak truthfully.

Great advice! I’ve been making sour dough bread for years, but since COVID lockdown, I’ve been revisiting the whole process. Thank you for this video and please make some more about bread making and different ways to use a sour dough starter. Much appreciated!

I’ve gone the lazy route with my sourdough. I have a whole wheat starter, and use my bread machine to make my bread. My machine allows for a custom cycle, so I can let it rise for 6.5 hrs, etc. I have things dialed in for what I want to produce… not a nice boule, just a sandwich loaf, but still VERY tasty.
