    Hi Kathy, just watched your video and subscribed to your channel. Great for you and your wife that you are doing the McDougall program! Im sure it will help with your health issues! I have been a McDougall fan for 30 years, as well as Dr Ornish. I love the WFPB doctors and others in this community, like Dr Furhman, the Esselstyn family and Dr Li. I discovered Chef AJ a year ago and immersed myself in her videos and watch daily on replay. She has changed my life for the better because of her advocacy for this lifestyle and her cooking videos.     I so appreciate this video and your honesty. I too was doing WFPB but with oil here and there, drinking stevia, going to vegan restaurants here and there I had lost 100 lbs and thought I was doing great but then the weight crept back up because the addictive food wasn’t eliminated. Now that I’ve eliminated the oil, Zevia, and all processed vegan food, my total weight loss is 127 pounds. I’m literally half the person I once was. The last time I was at this weight, I was 15 years old! 🤯 You can do this and you can be a great motivator for others who struggle. I think you chose the right program. I look forward to hearing updates. I really appreciate your videos.

    I enjoy all of your videos Kathy. I follow a WFPB diet but have not been releasing much weight. I know how I need to tweak things but I also have allowed certain foods into my diet that are not the most helpful for weight loss (bits of oil, vegan treats, nuts/nut butter, etc). It’s been a hard year. I lost my husband last year at age 53 to sudden cardiac arrest. To all of the haters 😝. You go girl! Wishing you all the best on your health based journey!

    Kathy, learned about you from Chef AJ. I found your vegan bean cookbook in a second hand store and love it. I do your veggie boullion cubes all the time. You are a very sweet person and it shines through with all that you do. I just recently bought Glen Merzers latest book America goes vegan, and on page 6 and 7 it was very moving. He is a wonderful writer.
    He writes “We know that the foods we’re eating are right for ourselves, for the animals, and for the planet, while the foods that others are eating are killing them and defiling our world….and yet to say so is to risk being deemed obnoxious.
    So you see, it’s not always easy to dine on the side of the angels!”
    So you are an Angel, and keep on loving on Kathy.
    I’ve lost over 40lbs and maintained for the last 4 years. The oil and fat is the key, I’ve learned,
    Thru Dr Macdougall, it ads up fast. It is a daily struggle in our food environment and I am alone eating this way. I keep cooking delicious meals and people around always want the recipes. So I consider that a win in the right direction. Always spreading the word to those who want to hear rather than those who choose to criticize out of their own fears of change.

    I been following Chef AJ's way of eating for 2 years now. I was 360lbs before eating this way. Now weigh 285lbs. It takes time to get rid of the weight. Tons of fat vegans out here eating the wrong stuff (oreos soda potato chips lots of nuts). The super processed vegan burger and non dairy vegan ice cream have tons of calories. Prepare your own food, stick to fruits and vegetables, water no sugary drinks less to no oil, the weight will come off.

    Kathy, i know you from chef AJ. I subscribe to you because i’m a sick foodie who lost my tongue (literally) to cancer. There are a lot of food i love that i can no longer eat coz it hurts my body. Following your recipe helps me eat better.

    I did the McDougall program when i didn’t know what to eat & not to eat. I read the starch solution and sold on it. I’m still on it and it’s been 7 yrs i’m in remission of my cancer.

    Yay! Kathy! For decades I have worked towards the Mcdougall style way of eating- ups and downs- success and failure. Last year due to heart diagnosis my husband took the one day Doc Esselstyne program. Suddenly he got all the vegan junk food out of the house and it made this massive difference. He dropped 35 pounds and I dropped 10. (Women are efficient fat storage machines per doc Goldhammer.) sooooo Happy Cheryl is onboard with you!!!❤❤❤

    I also took radioactive iodine for graves. My subsequent doctors have always declared the graves gone because of that. Do you take levothyroxine? To your personal knowledge do you have to take it forever?

    Hi Kathy – love this YouTube. There will always be mean girls, so just ignore them and understand that they are just voicing their insecurities and trying to make others feel as bad about themselves and they do. Overweight, underweight, just right weight – so what! We are all on our own journeys and are at different places, but headed toward very similar goals. And, I love your conversations 😊. I like easy meals that are highly seasoned, but struggle with meals ideas, so anything that you might come up with will be very helpful. From one McDougall alumna to an almost another one, I look forward to seeing what you might decide to offer.

I, too, still struggle with my weight. The honesty of this video so hits home. Please don’t take this video down. Don’t listen to the negativity. It says more about them, than you. 💗

    The minute I saw you on the YouTube screen, I saw the results.
    Well done!
    Any new change is a challenge to master & maintain.
    As someone whose struggled for almost 60years, to maintain a healthy weight on traditional SAD diet, I know the traps my own self image got me into for decades.
    Over the last year & half, watching your YouTube channel has helped me find the confidence to switch to and maintain a WFPB life style with accessible & delicious recipes Plus a community of persons interested in bettering their health & life.
    PS- there's no accounting for what other people think they have the right to say….(ignorance might be a starting point ).
