Great update Nili. I’ve found your whole journey from SIBO and beyond extremely interesting and a subject which although I’ve been keto/IF for the last 4years .. I hadn’t come across before. I’ve been trying to make LR yogurt as per your and other’s advice but thus far… rubbish results. 3rd attempt starting this weekend. Thanks again for posting all your updates. AndyT (UK)

Just saw a podcast from Ben Brickman who said a home insulin test should be available in the next couple of years. He also mentioned that a next generation of cgm that would measure glucose, insulin, and cortisol along with others would be maybe about a decade away.

I’ve been following you for awhile now and one thing I haven’t heard you talk about much is your activity level/exercise. I know many in the keto community say one does not need to exercise to lose weight or be healthy, but I think there is more to it. I have been adding more exercise in for my 🦴🫀 🧠 👁️ 👁️ 🫁… actually for my whole body. It definitely has helped me be more insulin sensitivity. “Weight-loss”not so much, but I can tell I have been gaining A LOT more muscles for this 61 year old woman.

I switched to carnivore and it’s the best thing I ever did. I’ve been carnivore for over a year. I feel so great. I lost 45 lbs., but the most incredible thing is the elimination of inflammation. I have zero. No aches and pains. Im in my mid-50s and feel like I did in my 20s. I don’t have to worry about insulin at all. I eat until I’m full. It’s great! I recommend everyone try it for 30 days.

Insulin is an incredibly volatile hormone and therefore the serum fasting insulin lab test is a moment in time. Like you mentioned the trend is more important. You can also trend the fasting insulin along with the C-peptide and HbA1c for a more complete picture. I think most docs in the low carb space feel that a fasting insulin of 5 or less is optimal as well. I'm so glad your digestion is so much better!! What a success!

    Thanks for sharing your journey.
I’m so jealous of you and others who do regular bloodwork. I happen to live in one of the few states that frown upon self testing 😞 NY. Does anyone know of any companies in NY that allow self testing?

When i was having insulin resistance issues my doctor wasn't happy to use the fasting insulin test due to reliably issues, instead she did the HOMA-IR which is supposed to be a better measure, I don't know if one serum test is a reliable guage? xx

@IndigoNili Great Video… I have gone through the same what you gone/ going through few things I did :

    1) Avoided Lectin & introduced stomach acid & Digestive enzymes
    2) As new to Low carb or keto could cause Keto flu – there is a carb adaption cycles too – As body tend to forget how to deal with carb after long Keto adaption
    3) Check your Liver – bad lever could be bad pancreas
    4) Check triglycerides
    5) Completely avoid processed food, go for whole food and it worked great for me
    6) Enjoy what works for you as stress would add all the symptoms you see.. try to be stress free

I am grateful my body is more sensitive than many and tells me I'm straying from a healthy food plan. I've known people who could "eat whatever they wanted", till they developed disease like diabetes, cancer, etc. They have a huge learning curve, or they suffer.
I keep in mind many vegetables and fruit have natural chemicals to protect them from predators, like us and are much bigger and sweeter than their wild ancestors. Berries are thought to be OK.
