After having covid I noticed a big difference in my hair. Didn't think too much about it until my 14r old grandson lost a lot of hair after his covid (both just thinning) I started taking collagen and iodine. Hope it helps. Maybe at least it will help with my thyroid.

I also started to add Iodine to my diet. first week 6.25 mg ( half tablet) second week 12.5mg ( whole tablet) next week 25 mg (2 tabs) will continue adding until I get to 50mg daily or get a negative reaction and will step back on the daily dosage. Iā€™m 81, in very good health. 20 months on Keto/ carnivore. In that time lost 55 lbs, but my skin is very loose and my hair is getting thin. Read ā€œ the Iodine Crisisā€ along YouTube videos on Iodine. Hope this help both you and me. šŸ’•

I was anemic and it messed with my thyroid, saw an interview with Dr.berry about taking iodine, it got my thyroid back on track. Low iron or low iron absorption can also cause hair loss.

the workout fiends in my life (all men- some compete) lost tons of hair (and they all shave what's left to almost bald) when they 'got serious'. Maybe it's from TOO MUCH protein -AND- NOT ENOUGH protein. Maybe we have a specific target we need to be in? Not too much, not too little. Maybe???

Cute hair cut! When the pandemic hit I was no longer able to color my hair. Needless to say, I embraced the silver and it is now thicker and curlier than when I started coloring it in my twenties (many decades ago!! šŸ˜‰). As it had been thinning prior to 2020, I also started using Biotin, folate, B12, 2 drops of 2% iodine, and used a ton of collagen in coffee, yogurt, anything that I could think of. Hope that helps someone.

Omg I feel like you are telling my story. I have had the same experience as you. I have 5 kids also but I'm almost 10 years older. Going to be 49 but have been dealing with shedding and small amounts of regrowth a year after nursing my youngest. No thyroid issues also. I feel like I've tried everything under the sun but can't put my finger on it.

I quickly wanna share my 2 cents on this topic: Body and nutrition has been my metier for over 20 years now and from all the things I read AND especially from my own experience I came to the conclusion that there are very often 2 reasons behind your kind of hair thinningā€¦and I experienced both of them. 1. Hormonal reasons: I had this issue when J went through puberty and my long and thick hair became all of a sudden ultra curly and after that ultra thin. No changes in my diet just my hormones. 2. Mal-nutrition. I am not sure why so many people only focus on protein. I personally believe the much bigger issue is the lack of all essential nutrients your body needs. 10 years ago I went vegetarian without any research and within 6 months my hair became thin and brittle and my teeth got issues. Not the absence of meat but the absence of a nutritionally balanced way of eating caused the issues. Both things are easy to get checked in a lab and might show you the missing link.

Haircut is adorable & I hear yaā€™ on not creating salon style at homešŸ˜‰. I just started with the iodine protocol outlined in the Farrow book, the Iodine Crisis roughly a week ago. Are you also taking the supplements listed on page 201? Especially the niacin which is the one Iā€™m concerned about due to the flushing. It is my understanding from research on that, that the no flush type is useless. I havenā€™t had any symptoms yet which makes me think now, Iā€™m not taking enough iodinešŸ¤”.

Iodine requires selenium to transport it wherebit needs to be. YouTube dr tenpenny on this. She repletes selenium for six weeks before adding iodine in. Also, hair follicles need iron to use the iodine to grow hair. Check ferritin levels. Also, rule out a demodex infection. These hair follicle mites cause hair loss.

I have had 3 different variants of Covid – I literally lost 3/4 of my hair in 6 months.
So, I have had to cut my hair short too.
I also take Iodine and had the same things happen.
    All the best to you.

Thanks for this video. I've been using iodine since last year when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I first heard about Lynn Farrow on Judy Cho's podcast which also led me to Dr. Brownstein. I am now a patient at his clinic in Michigan and am grateful for what they've done for me so far. I know you are dairy-free, which I was as well, but since reading Dr. Brownstein's book on living dairy-free, he recommended trying yogurt or kefir, since they're low in lactose, and I
can now enjoy at least some dairy. Love following you, keep up the great informative videos.

My understanding is thatvthe constantly increasing radio/microwaves (cell phones)/radiation from cell towers is whats causing the hair fallout. Everyone is a bit stronger/weaker dealing with it but supplementing with iodine protects us.

I accidentally stumbled upon your video, but I think, the info of Anthony William (MM) will help you. I guess, your adrenals are very weak because of pregnancy and other stress. You can regrow your hair with the right diet. He does every day lives on insta or youtube and others. Put the fat and protein out of your diet. That's the worst lie, they have ever told us about food. We don't need so much fat. He explains, why symptoms start anytime in anyone. Start to drink celeryjuice and eat way more fruit and vegetables. (I hope, you understand this. I'm german. šŸ™ˆ)

Is it possible it could be a hereditary condition? What about taking pregnancy vitamins or supplementing with natural progesterone cream? Might mimic something from pregnancy that made your hair thicker.

I wondered if you are taking the multi-collagen which includes I II III V X ? And itā€™s true iodine is important especially because you donā€™t get it if you donā€™t eat regular table salt because itā€™s added to that but itā€™s not in Redmondā€™s real salt or pink Himalayan salt. Itā€™s best to take the low dose of iodine for a period of time like a week or two before you consider going up your body takes time to adjust, Iā€™m so sorry you went through all of that. Im just about to buy the multi-collagen because prior to this I donā€™t know which collagen I was getting but Iā€™m having significant hair loss as well and itā€™s not that pattern baldness either but itā€™s definitely shedding and thinning. My hair is baby thin and always has been I envy how thick and lovely your hair is. I love your new cut, it reminds me Iā€™m overdue to get mine cut as well! I know when I get mine cut it gives the appearance of thicker hair but itā€™s just an illusion! Lol! Those stylists are magical at times! Lol! One of the things Iā€™m curious about is if you take a B12 supplement and calcium with D3, and a womanā€™s multivitamin? Im taking all of those and I also had the virus and while it wasnā€™t that bad felt like I had a flu for a few days and the last symptoms to go was the extreme fatigue and my tastebuds everything tasted sour. Then after having that I needed to take an antibiotic for 5 days and so I know the importance of ensuring Iā€™m taking in prebiotics and to rebuild that flora in the gut because if that is healthy and well then all the nutrients are absorbed through a healthy gut, when itā€™s not a healthy bacteria filled gut you can experience all sorts of issues from
constipation or diarrhea, nutrient deficiencies, obesity. In fact have you heard of the current studies going on where they literally take poop from the inside of a healthy thin adult and put it into an obese person! The thought is that the good gut microbes in the healthy poop will
migrate into the obese persons gut and multiply and kill off any of the bad microbes. Itā€™s absolutely fascinating to me and you canā€™t imagine my shock when I first heard about this study! They were trying to get obese individuals that would be willing to participate. I couldnā€™t believe it! It itā€™s absolutely true. So I do believe you are thinking along the right lines when you focus on your gut lining and the good bacteria.
The other things that I know can effect hair loss is stress who isnā€™t these days?! Also a hormonal imbalance can cause hair loss too. So what controls our hormones? Well your thyroid but there are a lot of other areas of your body that can not generate the necessary hormones needed. Iā€™ve been reading this info and Iā€™m thinking all of my current issues may be related to a very low amount of testosterone because after the age of 40 women who have a low amount to begin with it actually decreases as we age.

Cute haircut! I've been supplementing with iodine daily for 4 years as part of my Hashimoto's regimine. I put three drops of the Lugol's in my morning coffee everyday. My hair loss started to ramp up two years ago right before the pandemic (and I was on iodine at the time). I just thought the increase in hair loss I was experiencing was part of my thyroid disease – but my thyroid lab work was really good and I was on iodine. I had a new full set of labs done a few months ago around Thanksgiving and it turns out I had severly low iron to the point the doc was seriously considering sending me for a blood transfusion (which I didn't get). She said my hair loss was probably due to the iron deficiency. I've been on iron pills since then. The shedding has slowed way down. I go back to re-do labs at the end of this month. I've also been using your creamer recipes with collagen so maybe that is helping too. I started eating more protein in January and my hair loss didn't change. A lot of seafood is also high in iron as well as iodine.

Wow, Iā€™m right there with you I bet Iā€™ve listened to 40 hrs of podcasts this week about iodine and thyroid. My takeaway is that you need to get tested to know what the baseline is. N1 approach is great but dart board approach to supplementation is not. I like Nutrition with Judy she interviews these great cutting edge thinkers and you get a lot of information in an hour. Love the do!

Coming from the perspective of being ketovore/carnivore myself, the nutrients specific to hair growth that Iā€™ve had to supplement at times, were vitamin c (I do liposomal and magnesium ascorbate both in reasonable doses, since you can only absorb so much at a time), a sufficient amount of which is necessary for collagen supplements to be actually utilized. I have had my doctor check my labs for mineral deficiencies as well, since hair growth depends on many of those, and have had to supplement magnesium, zinc and selenium. Everyone is different of course, those are just the ones that I needed. I also have MTHFR (a methylation disorder) which is fairly common among people with any European ancestors, and I do better, even on a meat heavy diet, if I take the proper form of B12 and B6, since for me, I donā€™t always absorb enough of either through my digestive tract. I donā€™t have to have shots, I just use a sublingual supplement. You may have already tried all of this, just mentioning them because in my case they made a significant difference in my 55 yo, post menopausal hair, which thankfully is thick and plentiful now.

Edited to add that I also take iodine and have for years. I just do 2 drops of Lugolā€™s 2% per day at this point.
