THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Video was great and I really appreciate that you don't talk over/translate while your dad is talking. It helps me learn Cantonese better and from watching numerous videos already- I can say I don't really need the subtitles but is good to have when I don't understand a word. The Chinese subtitles are great too for my mom since her hearing is bad- she can follow along by reading the subtitles!! Chicken feet is one thing my dad did not get to show me how to make; he said it was too much work to do at home,

Besides cheung fun, this is a must have dish for me at dim sum although some people are repulsed by them. I decided to learn how to make this when our favorite dim sum restaurant closed during the pandemic. It is truly a labor of love and I was blown away by the many steps that it took to create it. Thank you, Daddy Lau, for showing us your version of this yumminess.
I went out with a girl who had never had dim sum before. So one day I took her to a Chinese restaurant for dim sum. She was excited about it. I told her that she must try the chicken feet and she was pretty apprehensive but willing to try. So she tried it and said nope. I ended up finishing the entire platter of it.
I offer everyone this wisdom. Find someone who enjoys and loves eating chicken feet as much as you. Don't end up like I did. 😔
That frying step really is essential because that wrinkled skin texture is a key element of the final presentation and final eating experience. And, I didn't know it was called "fu pei." If I heard it outright in Cantonese, I'd think that "fu" was in reference to "fu jook" (bean curd stalks). Which has a wrinkled, ruffled appearance similar to the prepared chicken feet. "Pei" means skin, of course. But, "fu pei" means tiger skin apparently. I learned something.
This is yummy! I used to dislike chicken feet but when I learned they're a good source of collagen I started to like them😂 I would boil soup with chicken feet and pork bones and it tastes so good. Definitely will try this recipe! Thanks Daddy Lau 😍
Miam! Quel cuisinier fantastique que cet homme! J'aimerais être sa fille. Il a tant à nous apprendre. J'ai hâte d'essayer sa recette; je suis certaine que c'est absolument délicieux. Merci pour vos bons conseils !
I've been using an air fryer since I got one and it works great. No more mess with the splattering oil. I do coat my chicken feet with some honey since I don't boil them first. You may not have to coat them with honey using this recipe since he's added honey to the water. I definitely recommend the air fryer instead of oil.

I don’t like eating chicken feet but I do boil them for stock. It’s a collagen bomb.

“I’m confident I can find an InstantPot/Pressure cook method”
probably my final words 😉

Wow, you can make a dimsum series. Maybe Woo Kok for the next video. 😛
Yay!

Good video.
Awesome to know, but luckily in my town, there are a lot of frozen and prepared Dim Sum chicken feet at the Grocery store.

The most dangerous dim sum dish (because of the deep frying).
Thanks for the informative video will be trying it out soon
I once brought Chicken Feet into my college dorms. All my roommates then nicknamed me The Witch Doctor for the rest of my Freshman Year.
I think 鳳爪 is fung6 zaau2, not fung1 zaau3.
