The benefits of juicing over high-speed blending is 1) you remove a lot of the fiber while retaining all the micronutrients, so if you don't want too much bloat say when drinking before exercise etc, and 2) you avoid oxidation & degradation of the micronutrients that happens when you blend at high speeds (or heat!).

Seeing as you are taking your fresh-pressed carrot/celery juice and then putting it in a high-speed blender and then also heating it, it makes no sense and provides no benefit to prefer juicing over blending in this recipe unless you just don't want the extra carrot/celery fibrous pulp.

I'm so glad this video popped up! I was thinking yesterday that I needed to make Dr. Furhman's Anti-Cancer Soup, as it's been forever since I made some. This recipe is definitely different from what I made before– I don't remember blending the veggies before cooking them. I think I'd rather do it this way!

I've read Dr Fuhrman's ETL book and cookbook and I really think it's the best and most healthy way to eat. That being said, I just can't get over the expense for all of this! I don't have a juicer (couldn't afford one even if I wanted one), I don't have a pressure cooker, I keep getting emails from Dr Fuhrman's website about seminars and retreats that cost THOUSANDS of dollars. Not to mention looking at his online store I about fell over at the cost of his ready made food. Like $15 for a jar of salad dressing? Even in the first minute and a half of this video she says don't use a vitamix with veggies and water because it won't do. Have to use a juicer? How is this realistic for most people to even follow this diet? I've been vegan for over 4 years and wanted to eat a little healthier and thought I would try ETL but I'm totally turned off by how out of reach this would be for me to afford. I can't be the only one?
