I'm wondering if it's the maltodextrin in the mct oil powder that caused the spike. I know it's not listed on the ingredients, but I know enough about molecular gastronomy to know that that's how oil powder is made.

Love you and your site. Always valuable! About the Nutrisens-I went through your link to find out about it. At one point I remember your saying you could get through insurance-such as Medicare? The sight gave me NO info on this. Can you help me with this question.

I’m a relatively new subscriber, so I don’t know your back story. Have you been diabetic in the past? Inspired by you, I’ve recently started monitoring my blood glucose as well. I’m not diabetic, I just want to see how my body reacts to different foods.

Congratulations. You are really metabolic healthy. My blood sugar reacts to sweet potatoes in the same way it does white potatoes, sometimes even more. I’m a little jealous

I'm reading the Toxic Superfoods book by Sally K. Norton now, about oxalates and how it jacks us up, and sweet potatoes are on the very high oxalate food list, along with white potatoes. So I'm skipping those and everything else on that list. 😃 I wanted another back up piece to the Super Gut book which I'm about to start the yogurt very soon. Basically, to see any clashes between the teachings and advice of these two doctors.

I just thought I'd look into oxalates and see what that's all about, and it turns out that I'm pretty much low oxalate anyway on my carnivore diet with a little fruit. 95% of that stuff on the list I don't eat anyway, which I'm glad to know. 😊

And Sally conveys the same thing that Dr. Berry did — that meats and animal products are gut friendly, and many plant foods are not and loaded with oxalate. But the difference is that she doesn't advocate carnivore or keto dieting, and shows where peeps who to want to stick with plants can do so without doing themselves in eating the wrong ones. Many of which are called superfoods.

I know that your goal is to accomplish tolerating certain carb foods, so I can understand you liking sweet potatoes. 👍 And Sally does support that too, just as Dr. Davis does. It's a great book and I'm glad to be learning something about oxalates.

Nili, have you tried making yoghurt using a2 half & half? I am allergic to casein and whey. After reading about A2 beta-casein protein and how it may be tolerated better in people with dairy sensitivities (not lactose related), I have been making my yoghurt with A2 half and half and I've found that I am not having severe acne/rosacea flares. Just thought I would mention it in case you want to give it a try for a "Wellness Wednesday" episode.
