    ⚪Ingredients:

    ◘6 apples (about 1kg)

    ◘200ml water

    ◘15ml lemon or lime juice (optional)

    ◘30g honey or sugar (brown or your preferred type – optional)

    ◘1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

    ◘1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)

    ◘Pinch of salt

    ⚫Instructions:

    ➤Preparation:

    → In a pot, combine 200ml of water and 15ml of lemon or lime juice.

    → Add a pinch of salt to the pot.

    → Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes or chunks.

    → Add the cubed apples to the pot with the lemon-water mixture.

    ➤Cooking:

    → Heat the pot over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    → Reduce the heat to low and continue simmering for another 10 minutes, allowing almost all of the water to evaporate.

    → Take off the heat and stir, waiting for the apples to cool down a little.

    → Add 30g of honey or your preferred sugar to the apples.

    → Mash or blend the apples until you achieve your desired applesauce consistency.

    ➤Flavoring:

    → Stir in 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg (optional) for a delightful flavor.

    ➤Storage:

    → Transfer your homemade applesauce into jars or your preferred container.

    → Store in the fridge for 1-2 weeks or freezer for 6-12 months in airtight containers.
