Thank you for another vegan recipe, Glen! While some may be off put but the โ€˜veganโ€™ thing, I think the fact that you primarily produce non-vegan recipes may help them to overcome their fear and give these videos a chance. Like you said, most people could do with less meat/more veggies in their diet, and our world as a whole needs less meat consumption.

I will definitely give this a try! Finally a different use for the Lentils and Barley I very often eat for Supper in place of only eating them individually (of one another, one on one night and one on the other), with Garlic and/or Onions with Canola oil!

This is fairly similar to my lentil curry soup.
    I use:
    Some cooking oil (canola/rapeseed)
A couple of veg stock cubes
    One finely chopped onion
    1-2 finely chopped carrots
    Salt
A few drops of tabasco sauce
A generous amount of curry powder (black pepper, turmeric, coriander, fenugreek)
    Rinsed/washed (split, dry) red lentils
    Basmati rice

I can't stand garlic, but if you like garlic, throw that in as well.

I just wanted to thank you for the plant based recipes you've been posting recently. I used to love watching your channel but since I went vegan a lot of the videos recipes aren't super relevant to me so I always really appreciate when you make a tasty vegan/vegetarian recipe. Thanks Glen!

I think I have all the ingredients, already. No trip to the store! Your vids are very well produced and very enjoyable, but you might need to preview the vids before they are posted. The Mezcal Negroni link popped up before the Method, then blocked half the instructions. If it had been dropped to be in line with Kitchen Aid repair vid, no blocking. It's a small thing, and I know the instructions are attached to the vid, but when you are watching it with someone, the Method is an integral part of the conversation. Well, you can see where this is going. Thanks for listening.

I've never heard someone mention meat so much when talking about vegetable soup, there's no meat to replace and nothing to make up for, it's a pretty standard meal that even Heinz will sell you in a tin.

I eat meat everyday never ever gonna stop but I eat vegetables every single day as well if you have meat you have to have vegetables with it. Literally goes hand-to-hand.

I'd argue with your point Glen that very few people have haemochromatosis. It's an incredibly common condition, in fact the most common genetic disorder among those of western origin. In Canada alone, the Canadian Haemochromatosis Society estimates around 1 in every 300 Canadians are diagnosed with the condition, with 1 in 9 being carriers of the genes for it, and that's not accounting for how often it's not diagnosed due to the lack of awareness about the condition among both the public and medical professionals. I mean I wasn't diagnosed until later in life, and I only found out because my parents were diagnosed even later in life still.

It's always worth consulting a doctor before adding any extra iron to your diet, especially if you have symptoms that might lead you to believe you're deficient. Haemochromatosis and iron deficiencies share many of the same symptoms!

Hopefully that helps raise a little more awareness about the condition. It's pretty serious if not diagnosed and treated.

I HUGELY appreciate you mentioning it in the show Glen, that was a really awesome move and I'm glad public knowledge is better now than it used to be! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anyway, I love the recipe. It's definitely one I'll need to try, I've been looking for a nice new veggy soup recipe to make for people. Thanks Glen!

Another addition that would be nice, rice. Put a ladle of the soup over rice and stir it in.
I wonder how well it would work as a dressing of sorts for a salad if you took some and let it simmer longer so it would be thicker. Then you could put it over a bed of fresh greens. I'd go with baby spinach, maybe romaine and red cabbage…
