Very nice tips and tricks! Very useful. For preventing Chana dal from spoiling I take a bay leaf and poke some cloves into it and put it in the Chana dal container. For rava and moong dal from getting spoilt by insects, we roast them slightly in a pan, cool and then store it in container. Cloves are very useful to prevent insects from attacking dal, rice and other foods. If we need to preserve them for long time then it is worth keeping in the fridge.
