Youtubers usually paid more attention to this negative comments and blow it out. Like YouTubers have 500 positive and encouraging comments and two negative ones, and then boom there is 30min long video dwelling on it. To me that absolutely unnecessary.
Sometimes it has to do with our own insecurities. We project them onto others. I learnt a long time ago that as long as people understand you that is all that matters. We all have accents. It makes the world a wonderful place😄😄😄😄😄
It took me years to understand little black Americans and they have the most strong ascent and up till today i am still Struggling with their ascent.

Even the Americans laugh at each other accent. In New York, you can tell if someone is from BROOKLYN, QUEENS, MANHATTAN, BRONX or STATEN ISLAND when they talk (In one state oooo). I remember someone saying, I'm trying to fake my accent….lol. I told her, I have what they call MIXED-ACCENT. I'm Nigerian-American. I can't sound 100% American because I wasn't born here and no matter how long I live here, I'm still going to Act and speak in my proud NIGERIAN accent. So, whenever I see such comment, I just educate them and if they keep pushing it, I BLOCK THEM 🤷♀️

So sorry I laughed when I saw this title. I laughed because this is the most ignorant thing I have heard. How can someone accent-shame another person? It’s ridiculous because English is not our mother-tongue. I live in England and I speak Igbo to all my kids and they can speak too. To me, it’s important for them to know where they come from and how to speak the language. If the Frenchman and Chinese can speak their language to their kids, why won’t I?
