I was going to say we have not eaten out for almost 2 years because of Covid. But then have to say every 2 weeks or so we do get a take and bake pizza. But we both are 79 , retired, I sure do miss eating out though.

I've been trying to keep my food bill undern100$ a WK cuz I have so much stockpiled!! Maybe you can do an eat out type of food at home. I think the mini prep is a great idea. My issues are in the evening.

Kim I don't think I could do a month of not eating out. We were eating out every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a long time. Now my husband is working twelve hour shifts so he is working every other weekend. He likes to eat out more than I do. I do make healthy choices though. Our Walmart near Denver was doing pickup orders today and I'm glad because it is supposed to rain tomorrow and I hate to pick up the groceries in the rain. I ran in there when I picked up my order to get a few additional things and the coolers with frozen foods were very empty and the meat was sparse too. I don't know what is going on with me because I am usually so strict with my eating but I made a pan of brownies yesterday and I intended on eating a fourth of one and I ended up eating 3 brownies! I need an intervention. I am having a difficult time moving on from the Holiday eating. I cooked during all the snow weather and I made a roast and chili. Now we are very tired of red meat. I made a decision to try to cook more things so my husband would have food on the days he works late. He eats frozen pizza and frozen meals some of the time. We don't eat the same thing on many days. I'm usually eating lighter than him. Say a prayer that I can slow down on my eating, haha.

I have not eaten out in 18 months. I really enjoy sit down restaurants but detest fast food. Health concerns this past year has kept me out of restaurants. I do have a hankering for a pecan pancake breakfast at Cracker Barrel. 😎

It is a tough thing to do, but I am wishing you all sorts of success! If I can plan things right, I am hoping we can do that for our February! I need to use up a bunch of the food we have hanging out in our pantry, fridge and freezer. Didn't you mean "helmets"? LOL

Looks like you have a really good plan. We are having a “no spend Jan on groceries” with the exception of milk, bread, and fresh produce. So far we have done well. We are picking up food like (chick fil a) one day a week this month which is pretty much what we do. We haven’t been out yet due to the roads but yesterday’s sun melted a lot of the snow. Have a great rest of the week.

I find for me that the secret to not eating out is to have quick easy meals ready to go or pull out of the freezer. Maybe make a list of I don’t want to cook so what can we eat. Breakfast for dinner, flat bread pizzas, pre-cooked hamburger patties, soup or a casserole. You can do this!
