I believe electric pressure cookers use a lower pressure – so your time adjustment sounds perfect! I had a bit of trouble transitioning from an old familiar stove top pressure cooker, to a new fangled one with lower pressure, and two pressure settings at that, (which worked on my induction stove top). Even though the manual had a complicated chart for the adjusting standard pressure cooker recipes, it was a pain in the neck, and I never used it after the first couple of tries. Then along came the instant pot, with the internet and tons of recipes…heaven! I'm making this recipe! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

Thank you for making this video! I'd watched a Chef John Potato Leek soup video and wanted to be able to convert it to the IP and now I see his is very much like hers. Can't wait to make this!

Hi! I’m another Texan enjoying your videos! I made the potato leek soup and it was so easy and delicious just like y’all said! I just had a question on the amount of Better than Bouillon for 4 quarts of water. I put 1Tbs for 2qts. I thought it was a little too much. How much did you add? I loved it over all. Thanks again❣️

Jill–this is delicious. I've made it a dozen times in my I-Pot. I've also found that it freezes well, at least in the small amounts that I do. I freeze liquids like this in silicone mini-loaf pans, then vacuum seal with the FoodSaver.

I have Mastering the Art of French Cooking in one volume, the 1961 edition. I bought it for my mom when I was 10 and I don't think she ever opened it. I started making this Potato Leek soup when I was in high school in mom's stovetop pressure cooker. It is so good, in its simplicity…hot or cold. I have tried a few of the recipes from that book…it really is an encyclopedia of techniques and good recipes. Thank you for the video.
