Udon is my favorite noodle, it should be way more popular than ramen but noooo ramen is more accessible and instant ramen has been everywhere for like 60 years(don't quote me on that). Team udon over here

I don't know if our other fellow Asians do in New Years but eating long noodles (pancit) on a new year is also a symbol of long life in the Philippines while tikoy (sticky rice cake) pertains to a family sticking together.
We kind of derived this tradition from Chinese people.

Yep my Dad's side of the family is Italian n we eat pasta with olive oil cos, garlic n chilli at midnight New Year's Eve for pretty much the same reason.
