I have a food saver that has the jar vac seal. I put my dry milk in a pint jar that I use out of. The rest goes in a half gallon jar and vac sealed. The lids pry up to add more dry milk or pour some into the pint jar. and can be resealed with the vac sealer. Work great. I use previously used inserts for this.

I'm surprised to see so many individual packages of seasoning mix rather than bulk herbs/spices/seasoning, which are more affordable and can be used in multiple ways. The same would apply to flavored rice mixes and baking mixes…buying the basic ingredients in bulk is more cost effective and allows you to have a more varied diet.

Why I do my best for a good preparation ? Vladimir Poutine. This guy is very dangerous for everybody. Today , Russia doesn't sell gaz to Poland and Bulgaria. The crisis is important. A nuclear war is possible. Pascal ( France )

I bought a couple of cans of powdered milk right before hurricane Maria hit us (2017) and opened them recently to use on my coffee. They were perfect. And the storing conditions were not ideal, they were just in my pantry with the heat and humidity of a Caribbean island. Got a couple of replacement cans and I expect them to last at least the same 5 years

Prepping “ paranoid delusional fear syndrome …lol , my goodness just relax people , just because you have 800 cans of beans and a really cheap tent ….makes no difference, when the nukes begin to hit the North American continent, all you will most likely see is a blinding flash followed by a wall of incessant heat , no need to run , cause your powder and not much point of trying to hide lol ….

I have lived in areas where between insect and rodent potential, I have put all dry goods into glass jars. This means the seasoning packets, things like single to multi batch baking boxes etc…, and pasta, rice, and other purchases that come with a sauce or seasoning packet. – I will add that in these areas, even the most expensive houses in the most exclusive neighborhoods were at risk.

I leave my dried milk in the package and then I put it in a tight container and it last me for 5 years plus. Keep it in a cool dry place dark place. I have been canning and storing foods for 60 years. Have a Blessed day ❤️🙏🤗 Blessings to you and your family 🙏

GREAT haul. I know it's ridiculous, but I'm sooo happy I stocked up on mustard, none to find in my local supermarket here in France. Gone. French can't do without. It's like your ketchup. Different conditioning, lol. And production, for the moment, is suspended in the biggest french enterprise, while our lovely Paris tourists go over to empty mayonaise and ketchup, they're going to lack, too. I learned to make my own mustard, and I'll give it a try with seeds in the garden. Makes great wasabi, too… got more semola, rice, pasta, all going up quickly here. 2 pounds of decent basmati are now 3,40…Much love!

Great haul Mary! I usually vacuum seal my dry milk in half gal mason jars, no oxygen absorber needed, but I do place a cut to size coffee filter over top of the dry milk inside the jar, so it won't get sucked up into the food saver and possibly clog it. I do that with flour as well. I take all product out of the packaging and either jar it or put in mylar bags for long term storage. I personally don't eat the Knorr products anymore because of what I found in a package while I was cooking it, and it was not a bug or mouse, but I could have choked on it. But overall good haul today! Have a great day!

Chinese lockdowns are the silent killer right now. They're killing our supply chains, nothing is getting made over there. Ukraine farms are toast, Russia is sanctioned, I'm not trying to be paranoid or scared but December 2022 is looking bad. Americans are gonna starve to death. Its nice to prep but if people live in the city their stuff is just gonna get stolen. Everyone needs to buy guns and ammo to defend their families and they need to find a community with a water well and a place to fish. I'm sooooooo ready for this, I'm ready to live Walking Dead style.

Hello Mary! I love keeping those seasoning packets on hand, I am going to look for that chicken chili for sure. Salad dressing is such a smart use for the squeeze bottle…I might have to steal that idea! I leave all my powdered milk in it's original package, but the ones in the box I take out of the box and throw them all in a bin or bucket for that extra layer of protection. The non fat powdered milk will last forever if you keep it cool and in the dark. That pink cleaner worked good, thanks for the tip! have a great Thursday!!!❤

I will keep adding to my food storage until I have seven years worth in rotation. This includes a increasing percentage of homegrown food!
    Why?
    A) Supply chain problems (which are getting worse every month),
    B) Fertilizer shortages (also getting worse),
    C) Water supply problems for farmers,
    D) Contaminated foods from the chemicals used by commercial crowers,
    E) Inflation,
    F) Devaluation of work hours,
    G) Hidden inflation (AKA Shrinkflation of packaging)

    H) The ease of mind of not having to worry if I have enough food to make it through to next year or the following year.
    I) Satisfaction of growing my own food,
    J) Healthier food than what comes from the store,
    K) Tastier food than what comes from the store,
    L) Not having to spend so much money at the grocery store every month, thus saving money,
    M) Being able to have more money to spend on other prepping supplies that will save me even more money as time goes along,

The bag of powdered milk should be ok as it is. I like to take my stuff out of cardboard containers, so I would put the box of milk in a Mylar bag or canning jar & seal
