So california prices must be outrageous because I priced what they pictured for whole foods and it was only $65. and I did not separate for one butter or egg just did the full price of the pack.
I know they got enough groceries to make spaghetti multiple times, but like… $54 at a dollar store to get enough ingredients to make spaghetti is insane
I love this style of content. I deeply appreciate the teamās continued effort to break down cooking and make it accessible to all people. Itās relevant to our needs and itās self aware while also being light hearted as always. ā¤
i have a suggestion for a video; with or without love .. two cooks/teams gets the same ingredients but only one cook/team gets to make it with love .. stuff like the oppotunity to soux vide and the other team getting 1 hour
21:36 WTF?! The cost of the spaghetti from the 99 Cents store was $54?! I think you got scammed. I'm pretty sure I can make a pot of spaghetti and meatball from the regular grocery store for $20 and it would be enough for 8.
I LOVE this format and would like to see more of it! But it really isn't an even playing field with different levels of sodium, since that's literally the world's #1 flavor enhancer (and very easy to even out between the two dishes with minimal effort). You absolutely (1) put way more cheese on the 99c version (which adds both more umami flavor and more salt), and (2) really needed to add extra salt to the Whole Foods version as soon as you realized that the 99c version had extra added salt.
Still love ya, but it's harder to take these seriously when they aren't executed with at least a bit more detail-orientation! š
I think this series would be great to test baked goods. Chocolate chip cookies, breads, cakes and pies would be interesting to see if there was a difference
So it's kinda like a cheap VS steep thing
WHO THE HELL TELLS A CHEF NOT TO SMELL THE INGREDIANTS???
Like I'm pretty sure smelling the things you eat to make sure it's okay is one of the main reasons to even have a sense of smell šš

3 years ago, that same package of ground beef was only $1.99. It's ridiculous how much they've gone up.

It's funny all eggs in the UK are brown and it's fancy to have white eggs
Me cringing that they didn't cook the meatballa in the sauce. lol

I still make the top ramen french onion soup you made a few years ago during the pandemic. 3 things I'll always have, onions, ramen, and brandy š
Lighter yolks are actually better for you

Mom: What are you doing?
Me: Watching a jacked dude make 2 plates of spaghetti.
Barry Lewis has been doing this for a while as part of his Cheap Vs Steep videos

Um. Is it just acceptable to everyone that a plate of spaghetti costs these folks $54?
i love how chaotic this is
I thought things at 99 cents only were 99 cents only?
This is my very first episode of mythical kitchen and I love that man. šš
It would be super helpful if they included a price breakdown for each ingredient so we can see the real cost difference
Oh this is a great topic, really
