I never could master potato salad until I found a recipe on Pinterest. It was called the best potato salad ever, and I’ve never went back. It uses garlic dill pickles chopped up and the liquid from it, and it’s so delish. The recipe I base it off of is 4 C mayo, 1-1/2 C pickle liquid, 4 Tbs Dijon mustard (I use honey Dijon and a dash of regular Dijon) salt, pepper, dash garlic powder, then onion, celery, eggs, and chopped pickles to your liking. Based off 5 lbs of potatoes, chill cooked potatoes, and splash some pickle juice over them. And then just mix the sauce up first and add to the potatoes and veggies little at a time so not to wet. I’ve halved the sauce and potatoes before as well. I’m sure you could find the exact on Pinterest, it’s from stone-gable blog. Thought I’d share, love your videos and hope you have a great week!!

Kim, try spending some extra time one or two days a week preparing meals for several days. If you are going to grill chicken breasts like you did here, do a double batch. Girlfriend……. use that Traeger! SO much more flavor. A propane grill adds zero flavor to food! Use later to make a big Cobb Salad or BBQ cheddar chicken sandwiches. Make a large bowls of your favorite pasta salad, potato salad, chicken salad (get some croissants), tuna salad, egg salad, make triple batch of taco meat and freeze for walking tacos, sloppy joe mixture freezes well, chili for frito pies… Roast or smoke a couple of whole chickens and have one for that day and pick the meat off the other one and make a casserole or shredded BBQ sandwiches. Make Club sandwiches. Every meal can be made fun with fruit salads, watermelon, homemade ice cream, chips, popsicles, cookies. All that kind of stuff is great for quick, easy Summer meals. I don't want to spend my life in the kitchen or at a hot grill so I make two or three days of food at a time. Game changer! Once you have the meat and sides, just have salad, fruits, veggies all washed and cut up in the refrigerator, some ice cream, cookies and chips. Life is easy and delicious! *Tip….it's actually best to cook the chicken on a higher heat for less time. Depending on thickness of chicken, I usually do four minutes on one side and three on the other with my Traeger set to 400. Use a thermometer and don't let it go past 165 degrees. I use the mini vanilla wafers too. I have no explanation for it but they are just better in banana pudding. Yours looks delicious. Have a great weekend!

I know something I forgot to say. Didn't want to edit my original comment as this would have gotten lost in all my other babble 😜. If you've never tried the banana pudding recipe from the box of name brand vanilla wafers….you have to!!

It's seriously life changing!! You may want to wait until cooler weather as it is a lot more labor intensive. The meringue is homemade & everything. My mama makes me one every year for my birthday. My favorite dessert ever!! It's best day 2 after it has been in the fridge, cookies have softened & all the flavors have melded together. I'm drooling just thinking about it 🤤!!

Girl its been hot as blazes here in GA, too 🥵🔥. I absolutely HATE turning my oven on when it gets that hot. Looks like some sort of tropical depression is going to dump loads of rain 🌧️ on us starting Saturday night. We need some rain but not all at once 🤦. Some quick summer meals I throw together are:
    1. Italian chicken: marinate chicken in italian dressing for up to 24 hours. I usually throw it on my George Foreman Grill because I'm to lazy to get the big grill ready & honestly not that great at grilling. You could sub any marinade or BBQ sauce
    2. Cheater chicken parm: salt pepper some chicken breast & then roll in breadcrumb/parm cheese mixture. Air fry at 360° for 6 mins, flip, add your sauce & mozzarella cheese & air fry for an additional 3 mins. You can also sub out the frozen breaded chicken patties to make it even easier/faster
    3. Beef & cheddar tacos &/or nachos:
Cook a pound of hamburger meat seasoned w/ salt & pepper. Drain meat if necessary then add 1 can of cheddar cheese soup & 1/2 cup of picante sauce. Warm that up. Spoon into soft tortillas, hard shells or spread over tortilla chips. Add additional toppings as desired. If I make nachos I usually pop them under the broiler for a couple mins to melt the additional shredded cheese we like to add to them. You could also use chicken
    4. IP Tortellini Alfredo: https://www.thisisnotdietfood.com/instant-pot-tortellini-alfredo/
I have several more but don't want to go on & on. You're probably rolling your eyes 👀 already like ok, that's enough 🤣. I just know how darn hot it gets & the motivation to cook goes right out the window.

Hey there. Happy birthday Bryce. A bbq/cookout sounds good. When I make baked beans, I use the pork and beans and add onions, green bell peppers, honey mustard, brown sugar and bbq sauce. I like to use a Texas style bbq sauce that is heavy on black pepper. Love baked beans. We have them a lot with hamburgers and hot dogs. In the summer I make a lot of prepared/packaged items. I also use my small George Foreman grill. It's not even July and I'm already over this heat.

The kids playing while you're getting the chicken ready for the grill in the background is the best! I miss those days. Mybolder two are 23 and 21 and out on their own. My younger two are 18 and 12 and don't horse around like that. But man do I remember when it was pure chaos!
I'm sick of cooking. It's either too hot or we are burned out. I think this happens every summer…lol we did copy cat chicken critter salads from The Texas Roadhouse last night. I've got on tje meal plan the pinwheels like you can buy from walmarts deli. Hamburger Helper, but the Great Value brand to try. The Suddenly Salads have really good recipes on the back. I think we are going to keep it simple and basic.
    Great video!

I have been doing a lot of instant pot and crockpot meals when it's hot. We still don't have a fridge so been roasting frozen veggies in the toaster oven for a side. That banana pudding looked so good!

Nice comment about Grandma's food. My dad love my mom dearly she was an excellent nurse but she wasn't a fantastic cook and he always teased her that he would rather go to Grandma's house for leftovers then eat hers first time around. Mom got to be a better cook through the years but to give her credit grandma didn't really teach her she just stirred things up in front of her and expected her to learn and she did not learn that way.

I make my baked beans very similar to you I put onions in there also that I didn't see and I don't put hamburger unless I am using it more as an entree or to stretch the entree if it's a straight side I don't use the hamburger although I a lot. A man I worked it without his shoes in for potluck that were actually wonderful and your kids may like them he added pepperoni to them. In this day and time I would use mini pepperoni but he quartered just regular pepperoni slices and put in it it was really good for a change.
