Lodge is a great brand especially for starters! It comes pre seasoned and once you get one you will love it. I would get a large one since you do cook for several people. (When you brown meat on the stove before going into the IP, I would suggest to saute onions in that pan too so you would get that flavor.) Menu Looked great this week!! And who doesn't want a Kazoo??

Hi Kim we have different versions of your instant pot over here. I don’t own one I felt too intimidated by them. I do a lot of cooking in the slow cooker. All of the recipes looked fabulous. Loved the steak at the end. We are having home made meat pies.

Hmm, next time you might have to use hamburger steak! 😁
Seriously, I've got to start watching more of your instant pot stuff so I can start using our instant pot. We've had it for a while and never used it! 😏
    Love ya Sis!

Lodge brand is really good. Most iron skillets are already pre-seasoned now. I wash it and dry it then i put some oil or spray all over it and wipe it in real good. You never put it in the dishwasher. Just read your instructions and it will tell you how to take care of it. You will do fine and I think you will enjoy it. The kids must have liked the cube steaks because they sure were eating it! Lol. BTW- Cube steaks are really good and tender in the crockpot. You did good girl! Have a good weekend!

The lodge from wal mart is fine. Get the preseasoned. All u have to do is wash and use. All the work is done for you. After each use, I wash with dawn and dry. I never have a problem. My pans are 60 years old. They’re the same as bread new.

Go with the original Lodge they’ve been making them for generations. You can’t go wrong they even make them pre-seasoned now. They are not as hard to clean as you may think. I use warm water and a scraper put on your stove on the fire until dry spray with oil or a teaspoon of oil and wipe all over pot I store mine in the oven as my mother, grandmother and great grandmother did.

Hi Kim, I got a 3 piece cast iron from Amazon and is was a great price. I have lodge and a simplicity, that was my dads, so it's over 60 years old. They all work great.

I use anything. I like to find them at thrift stores. Even if they are rusty you can clean them up and season them. I found a large rectangle one that was a griddle on 1 side and a grill pan on the other.

Lodge is a good brand of cast iron cookware, they've been around a long time. The newer ones already come pre-seasoned and ready to use. Don't be intimidated by cast iron, it's actually quite simple to maintain.

I don't have a cast iron skillet either. I'm actually quite intimidated by them because of all the special treatment and cleaning that goes with them. I think I'll just stick with my regular skillets lol 😁.

Lodge brand is awesome! It’s not like it used to be because they come pre seasoned and that uses to be the most difficult part was the seasoning in the beginning when they were new it would take forever to get them seasoned! Just remember to always dry them after they are washed and I spray a little squirt of Pam and wipe it around in the pan. Viola! It’s that easy! I always heat my pan up first before putting meat in it to seat also! Just a little tip! Great recipes today girl!

Well, Kim, I was going.to say.just research & read reviews but everyone seems to.be !meaning towards the Lodge. I inherited my skillet from my mom. Hers is probably 50 years old or.more. I just never put soap in it– spray lightly w/ spray– & I store.mine in my oven. Hope this helps.

The Lodge brand is the best I think!!! It cleans well and stays seasoned well and I love mine! I have the pioneer woman one too which is great but the lodge is my favorite! After you cook in it and it’s clean always spray some cooking spray in it lightly and it stays black and seasoned fine!
