We did the same thing when our kids were little. Rent a house and cook at home. Now that our daughters are adults and have granddaughters we have started doing this again to make it affordable for my husband and I to pay for our family vacation every year! Looks like a great time!! We live in Orlando and love going to seaside Florida a few times a year!! Beach vacations are the best!!

I don’t think it’s odd at all to cook a lot of your own food. My husband has a lot of allergies and I am diabetic and don’t eat much meat. We always take our own food with us. We mostly travel in our small RV, so it’s easy, but even if we are in a hotel, we take a cooler, make sure there is a microwave and just cook ahead. Very easy to reheat stuff and eat fresh fruit and veggies. If we had kids, i’d totally do a house with a full kitchen like you do.

How did you keep the meat from spoiling when you went to the beach and water park? Did you just use ice packs or a cooler?
You are the mom bomb! How perfectly simple yet genius to serve hotdogs or hamburgers without all the mess! Just saying I would love to cook for the little one that kept putting his hand into the chip bag! I think he and I could put away some food together! Thank you for sharing your vacation time with us! Wish that I had watched this when camping with my kids years ago. Breakfast for supper is the norm at our house, it’s my husband’s favorite meal! Glad you all stayed safe and had so much fun! I can never get used to seeing a baby on the front of mama with dangling bare legs so close to a hot stovetop. When you added the potatoes to that hot oil I cringed. I'm a mom of 6 and grandma to 14 and I guess I'm just from a different generation…I never had to keep my babies attached to me when I cooked. It scares me for them. 😟

omg I laughed out loud when he unveiled the pyrex full of hot dogs in the plane. Whatever keeps them quiet and full, thats what works! ohh, also, those look like the Gulf of Mexico beaches to me… St Pete beach is my absolute favorite place to go. It looks like the whole family had such a good time. I think you did a great job of eating healthy but also eating treats because vacation should feel different than home 🙂 hugs from the east coast!

This was a great video! Enjoyed watching what you guy's had on vacation. Where did you get your daughters swimsuit? It's a very nice modest swimsuit. I have three daughters and it's very hard to find a nice bathing suit that is modest enough for them.

The last thing I want to do on vacation it cook. Also just my opinion but I find it very dangerous to wear your baby while cooking with grease splatter, boiling water splashes, and the chance of fire.

I love that grocery pick up and delivery are available now; makes going on vacation so much easier. When we vacation we usually eat out only late lunches. Prices are cheaper and usually restaurants less crowded and makes dinner unnecessary. Looks like you guys had lots of fun! The kids swimsuits are adorable.
