My favourite way to have oatmeal is to cook it with almond milk, a bit of maple syrup, cinnamon, & a pinch of pink salt. Then I top it with fresh blueberries, hemp seeds, chia seeds, some chopped nuts, a splash of almond milk and another drizzle of maple syrup. Soooo good. 🤤

I have a similar relationship to yours with oatmeal. Dont love it but learning to love it haha. I made the weirdest recipe the other day. It was a poultry recipe on a bed of oatmeal with a sweet raisin (I used dates) syrupy topping. The oatmeal had garlic and broth etc in it and was savory! That was a new flavor for me! Haha. It was actually quite good though 😋

Hey Nikki! If you don't like oatmeal.. try making it with milk ( I used lactaid (lactose free milk) but you can use almond milk or any kind of milk), instead of water, will make you change your mind about oatmeal!!!! Milk makes the oats so creamy and yummy! I also add brown sugar, salt, a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon, and a pinch nutmeg to the milk. I add my milk first then and brown sugar and spices (sometimes fruit) and let it simmer. once the liquid has simmered I add the oats and I like adding ground flax seed, so I add some of that. . I cook it for about 5-10 minutes on medium- low heat and it comes out perfect! Give it a try!!! Note: if it looks dry add more milk. The oats can take a bit more time to cook and they just soak up liquid so don't be afraid to add more milk!!

    Great video Nikki!
I am looking forward to more podcast episodes. I absolutely loved the one on homeschooling!
I am currently reading Dumbing Us Down by John Taylor Gato and it is so good, I would highly recommend. Public schooling seems to be only that – ‘schooling’ and not education. I look forward to watching your journey!

Omg I don’t watch a lot of YouTube these days because I’m still trying to learn how to balance my life with my two boys but I can’t believe your son is already that big. Feels like I was watching your labor vlog yesterday. He’s so cute! How old is he now?

I'm the same way about oatmeal. It's slowly grown on me but I don't always like it. My favorite is a prepacked oatmeal I buy at the store that has lots of apples and nuts.

My grandma makes the best oats! And she boils the water first THEN adds the oats best way to not get mushy oatmeal!! It keeps the rolled oats in that shape it’s the only way to eat oatmeal otherwise it’s wayyy to thick or watery

Totally going to start feeding my daughter tacos that way. She’s about five weeks older than Logan and I always feel bad that she misses out on taco night – I don’t know why I never thought of doing it like that
