Failures In Production happen. Don’t hold yourself accountable for what is marketing. You did the right thing in buying a production model and validated truth. China has a hard time caring narrow quality requirements and quality slips during production runs. Got to have a team verify their own production management teams. I am sure the Weber team is embarrassed by this report and sales will be affected by their decisions, not yours.

You are now the laughing stock of the BBQ community , every other cooker you use drip pans except this one , you didn’t even build the grill yourself, your fire pot and glow plug are installed wrong ….. what you did to weber is not forgivable

I will admit I got excited when this grill came out, but after watching several videos of unhappy customers, yours just confirmed it for me not to buy… for now I’ll stick with my Pitboss that has not failed me with countless cooks, long and fast, I do baby it with frequent cleaning and maintenance, but I work on restaurant equipment for a living and I think it’s a must for any brand of pellet grill.. Weber definitely has a few issues with this unit, but with their reputation I think or hope they’ll get it worked out…

My Yoder YS1500 is approx 50f off between the set temp Vs. the probe temp (at grate level) from my Thermoworks Smoke which used to drive me nuts until I learned to not stress and just let it roll. Nowadays I just set it at 300f and walk away.

Thanks for the great and honest review. I’ve been thinking about getting the smoke fire but for now I’m going to stick with my 24 inch kettle. I really enjoy your channel.

The biggest mistake you made was not cleaning the grill before the cook. You still had all the scaling and ash from the first burn in/seasoning.

If you vacuumed that up, you would have had no issues. Read the owners manual.

I just did a brisket over night and zeroooo issues.

Had a pellet feed failure on my first overnight cook… woke up and there was a hole where the pellets drop down. Screen said it was out of fuel and it needed ti be shut down. There were plenty of pellets well over the low fuel sensor but they simply stopped feeding. Ruined a packer cut brisket… not impressed…

It appears that the EX6 has a wider pellet tray than the EX4 and the angle of the tray is greater on the EX4 and allows the pellets flow easier than the EX6 which has less slope in the pellet tray. Can you confirm this?

You believed Weber…I believe you. Thanks. Maybe Weber needs to incorporate some type of vibrating unit on the hopper to assist the pellets in sliding down the ramp into the auger and a supply a fire extinguisher until they figure out the grease fire problem! Not good if your doing a long cook and loose the pellet feed and/or have a grease fire to boot. I was all excited waiting for this pellet cooker to finally come out as I wanted to purchase a pellet smoker since last summer and viewed hours of YouTube video reviews on lord knows how many different units. When I heard Weber was jumping into the ring I decided to wait and see their offerings. Well I'm let down (for now). I hope they straighten out the issues you and others pointed out as they are certainly deal breakers at this point. To shell out $1,000.00 + the SmokeFire has to lose the Fire!

Hey man, this was my first time watching one of your videos. Want thank you about a thousand times for this candid and honest review! I’m almost certain I would have purchased one of these smokers on Weber reputation alone. Thanks again brother!

Justin, my heart goes out to you. I wanted to believe all the hype too. IMHO Weber tried to bridge the gap between low 'n slow and a hot sear, and failed in a way that may not be recoverable. Sure, a stepper chute is easy, but the eraser for me is how do they control their heat better to avoid the fire? Your center probe showed the elevated temps above the burn box through the whole cook, and eventually, exposed to those temps, the grease will ignite. Amazed that Weber didn't encounter this. Thank you for the informative video that also made me decide to stick with my '02 Perforner with Slow 'N Sear, '04 WSM, and a gas grill.

It’s weird to see yours having a grease fire. I watched a Henry Soo video right after yours, and he also had the same hopper issue, but no grease fire. Maybe yours just is defective, and not a mod issue.

I have done a lot of work at Weber Grill in Huntley, IL. I can assure you that they have a great product assurance lab and perhaps you should contact Weber Grill with your issues. They take returns very seriously and I am sure they would be more than helpful to help you. In addition your Weber

This is why I use an offset. I don't know a single pellet "oven" that can be made without a drip pan to minimize the chance of a fire. This propane grill design hybrid has no countermeasures to stop grease fires. The ash, the price, and the hopper are a turn off for me.

The pellet issue has to many variables. Humidity, alone, will effect that. The humidity goes up can make the pellet dust sticky. The ramp would need to be on a 45,at least, to over come that. I believe I will keep using my smoker that doesn't require electricity.
