We went Fishing early morning and then came back and cleaned and salted it do it could last. I learned canning and so many skills. I have taught my son and then my grandchildren. I know what stuff natraul they call it bush medicine and what plants you can eat that grow wild. If ever needed they can manage to survive.
Amber us a very beautiful, happy baby. So glad you ate having time with a friend. So good

Mel it is great and wise to learn the old ways. I learnt from my Grandparents and Aunts. On their Usland they had no Electricity and no Running Water. We had Rain Water and Oil Lamps. Cooked on a Cast Iron Stove but also outside on the Fire.

Cool-ish place to store some food without electricity is (if anyone has one) these older wells. Need to have good amount of rope in hand and coolers, buckets etc to hang food as deep as possible near waterline. My friends used that for long time when they bought old farmland where no buildings have survived until they had first log house's walls, roof and first electrical outlet installed.

Mel and Gary this was so much fun to watch. Yes Ember is so precious and so excited for Jaylena. Hope you have had a wonderful day. Sounds like a great place I'd like to visit. I've been down Rt 7 thru Arkansas and it was very interesting. Thanks

As a NYer if you have never been here NYC or "the city" will be a culture shock however upstate has a few mid sized city hubs to explore from and from say Syracuse you can visit all the sites in less than about a 3 hour drive in any direction. if you do decide to come up this way HMU i can help ya find all the cool spots to visit and explore
