Just wanted to share with you that I made this dish last night. I had some deer meat in the freezer that was gifted to us it came out delicious. I send some home with my son. I'll be cooking this again. Thanks so much. Also working on the friend ship bread. Blessings

Moose meat! another one our household staples growing up. I have lived in Alaska almost my hole life. I grew up on moose, halibut and salmon things cost a lot of money up here so we sourced our own meat and kept chickens for chicken and eggs. Watching your channel has been deprograming me from the generation of fast easy and cheap. The fond memories of growing up with canned goods and sourcing your own meat was not that long ago just forgotten. I’m excited about my journey of going back to how my grandparents lived and cooked. Thank you for sharingπŸ˜‡

That looks so yummy Rachel! I've never eaten goat meat tho.
I have a question…my son in law would like for me to can a marinade sauce for carne asada. It takes ev olive oil and soy sauce among other things. I'm just wondering if I can can the olive oil and soy sauce? I trust your opinion. I'm sure the oil isn't recommended to can, but it's only 1/3 cup per jar. It also takes 2 T cider vinegar and the same of lime juice and sugar. I really want to try this, but not sure how long you would suggest to pressure can it. It's in 1/2 pint jars. Thanks.

Love the inspiration of you all showing what you make with what you've grown and harvested. I don't have my own livestock but I support local farmers and buy beef and pork from them πŸ€—

Rachel I really love and appreciate your videos you've taught me a lot since I've been watching you over the last couple of years I do have a question about your video of a few days back where you talked about pulling up the carpet and whether you were going to redo the hardwood floor or put carpet in have you made a decision did the guy come and tell you whether it was workable and fixable or if you have to put carpet in, can you let us know.

Great video thanks Rachel- why don't you just keep the remainder of your stock in the fridge ?? I have never frozen mine & just can it, then when I open to use I store leftover in our fridge ??.
You are looking really good xx. Cheers Denise- Australia

Love to see your meals…I've got my freezer full of beef, pork, chicken, and some veggies. Pantry is full of staples, canned vegetables, etc. Told my partner today we won't need a grocery store for a long time. Just need to get creative with our meals!!!!
