My Grandmother always had food, flour, sugar, and shortening stocked in her pantry in case of bad weather plus the nearest store was 30 miles away and the store did not always have every thing she needed. I keep some foods stocked also and have found It is a balancing act to keep enough but not too much and keep the stock rotated. Sometime you just have to start over. Looks like you have done great in reorganizing and have a good plan. Best wishes to you and your family Debbie.

You're doing a wonderful thing, Debbie. All of us should do likewise. I so often toss out food that is beyond the best by or use by date because I don't trust that it may still be good. Then I feel bad about it. You're very brave to be proactive in getting medical attention for your health challenges. Kudos to you for everything you are undertaking. We will pray for you, too.

Debbie, your shelves are very organized. That will make it very easy to plan meals from the foods you have stored. I really have a feeling we may have some food shortages this year with the weather affecting our farmers. Always keep some put back. Also some cash. Just in case there are power outages and the ATMs are down.
