I always made mashed potatoes how you were talking about doing it but Clayton was actually right in putting the potatoes in the water before its boiling. I always thought you should wait till the water was boiling then put them in however apparently doing it that way doesn't cook them thoroughly. When they hit the boiling water the outside of the potato gets cooked super fast meanwhile the inside is rock hard.Thats why they say you should put the potatoes in before the water starts boiling so they cook evenly.
You should actually put potatoes in pot of cold water and bring to boil, then reduce to simmer. It’s not like cooking pasta.

How was it to clean the pan? Usually cast iron pans can be pretty difficult to clean because food gets stuck on it.

I’m finally able to relax and catch up with all the videos I’ve been missing out on.
