Have been cooking in my ip for over a year now. After each use I put the lid up side down in my sink and fill it with 1 drop of dawn dish detergent and sprinkle 1 Tablespoon of baking soda and warm water let it sit while cleaning up the kitchen then just rinse the lid with warm water and drip dry or towel dry. No smell ever and I have made most of the recipes from your you tube channel. I have a very large sink but you can sit the lid upside down on top of a bowl on the counter if you need to use your sink to clean up the rest of your meal.

I'm surprised you didn't pressure cook the rice. I have a Cuisinart Electric Pressure Cooker – very similar to an InstaPot, but it only pressure cooks. I cooked Jasmine rice tonight in it with half coconut milk and half water. I used 12 oz of rice, and 14 oz. of water/coconut milk mixed. I cooked it at high pressure for 2 minutes, and then let the pressure drop naturally for 5 minutes, and then did a quick release. It was PERFECT. Flaky, individual grains of tender, coconut scented rice.

Great Show! When i tried my first few recipes in the I-Pot , I thought it was defective because it too so long to start. I am a new Vegan since July 1st. My health issues have almost all gone away ! Is there a way to cook rice/beans at once? I don't care what kind of rice. I keep ending up with soup…… Please help!

I discovered that most of the spices in the tubes in the produce section of the grocery store are made with dairy and oil.and other unwanted ingredients. I only mention this because I heard someone on here suggest them.

You are great at doing demos! A real natural. I'm green with envy. I don't know one other vegan person irl (in real life), let alone in around my area. I'm on a stranded island all of my own vegan doing. I swear, when we go visit my sister-in-law in Huston, I want to figure out a way to meet up with you for a quick Hello! in person, (near a vegan friendly grocery store would be awesome) and a cup of tea in some vegan friendly place in town…okay, I can day dream all I want. LOL! Practical reality – after the LONG LONG drive from central florida to Huston, I'll probably be like…recovering from the various aches and pains of the trip over and not wanting to see the inside of the truck till the return trip home.

    Hi Jill

Thank-you for a good demo. Just wondering if you could show at one point the COOKS ESENTAL STEAMER BASKETS IN USE.
Possibly steam some veg and make a sauce to go over it!!! I have this steam basket system but find pressure cooking times for vegetables a challenge. Either over cooked or to aldenti . I have placed the water in the instant pot for steaming not in the steamer baskets. This method produces strong colour in the veg being steamed and I do not loose nutrient value in the process as the veg is cooked in a dry pan. Veg takes 15 min at high pressure with varying results. I have only used mixed veg when using this method

    Kindest regards
