I'd love to see more of your meals-in-jars! My meal-planning (it's not really meal planning…I'm just not there yet 🙃). is generally two consecutive nights of each starch: pasta, rice, potatoes. The last day is a mash-up of leftovers, a quick freezer meal or BIG SALAD with all the random stuff from the fridge. The two-day blocks just shift down the week as needed.

I know you've said that canning is not your preferred way to save food. I will tell you that canning potatoes has SAVED my stored food and our budget. I follow a McDougall-type diet and potatoes are king! I had so many potatoes that were just as you say, getting old and needing to be used up…and I couldn't get through them quickly enough no matter how I tried. Canned potatoes make a delicious base for a curry, probably the best curries I've made. Of course, all the obvious ways to use canned: adding to a soup, air frying or baking., etc. I really resisted canning them and now I'm so glad I did it. Growing up, we had cannellini beans more often than any other bean (Italian household). We ate them simmered/sauteed with all kinds of greens and potatoes and our chili was always red kidney beans and cannellini.

This is a wonderful way of doing meal planning. Please remind me of what you do for breakfast and lunches. I do a meal plan for all meals and snacks. We do follow a temp-let but I just find it helps encourage me to swap recipes in and out.
Could you please share your tea mixes. I have been doing our hot tea just like the DIL video you shared and we are LOVING it!!!! It has been so so nice. Also I am curious about how you make the steal cut oat recipe…so I think you said that Adam does that. I would love for you to share that one.
Thanks for all your time and ideas. Keep them coming

I'm terrible at meal planning. We go a week where I have it all figured out and cook amazing meals, then the next week it's like 'ok, eat vegan nuggets and annies vegan Mac and cheese, I don't care' LOL!!!! I call it balance. Kids don't seem to mind one single bit! ha! Your meals sound super yummy! Will be on the look out for the mashed potato video!
