I made this about three years ago and I did not like it, the flavor, itโ€™s not strong enough, I had to add so much more spices and it still tasted bland. But I will give it another try, to see if my tastes have changed.

Such a great and healthy swap for real cheese sauce. I really enjoy this dish and it makes a lot! I usually halve the recipe. I use the FOK version but they are really similar.

If you are a die hard dairy mac n cheese eater. This vegan mac and cheese may take some time to adapt to, but trust me, you will like it, sooner than later.

I have to say this is the worst vegan cheese sauce I've ever tried. I followed the ingredients exactly, and ended up with a thin, not remotely cheesy sauce. I'm very disappointed. I've made vegan mac and cheese with a wide variety of things and unfortunately this really doesn't cut it. U really wanted to enjoy it but it's a complete miss.

This was so yummy. Added 1/4 cup of cashews instead of pine nuts and used rotini noodles instead of macaroni. Worked out great. Thanks for this great recipe.

I have, essentially, made exactly this before but with more nooch. I think vegans always like MORE NOOCH! ๐Ÿ™‚ I've also subbed butternut squash or carrot for the sweet potato. And I agree about adding some pine nuts or even macadamia nuts into the blended creamy sauce. I love tahini but I've not tried that in vegan mac & ch'z yet.

Thank you for your great channel which I'm so glad I found for the cheese recipes. I would go easy on the nutmeg because 2-3 tsps or more is dangerously unhealthy.

Hi Anja, thanks for the gorgeous recipe. I made slight changes – to my taste, since I am a total 'Foodie': I used half/half potatoes/sweet potatoes for the color, much less water (=thicker) but a bit almond milk, and instead of oats I used ground golden flax seed, and at the end I added a few drops of apple cider vinegar, and some nutmeg after the blending was finished (for the cute nutmeg specks in the sauce). YUMMMMM!! I use this sauce now already for a while also for pouring it over my veggies (either steamed, boiled, or roasted). What a keeper. I know I'm late in mid-2019, but discovered your Youtube channel only a couple of months ago. Converted to WF-PB around 6 months ago ago, so always hunting for new goodies. Your channels is wonderful.

I tried this tonight and it was very good. The best non cheese mac and cheese I've ever had. Thank you for sharing it. I believe I'm going to add chopped tomatoes and oregano and bake. This will be a mock on a casserole my mom use to make. Thanks again.

I shared this on Twitter and I didn't even try the recipe yet! I've made something similar in the past, but I can tell this is going to be fantastic. Thank you soooo much!

I made this recipe tonight. It was easy to follow, the ingredients are easily available, and it makes a large quantity. It smells and tastes fantastic! I would not say Mac and cheese but definitely as good or better than any creamy macaroni casserole Iโ€™ve had. My surprise came during cleanup. A quick rinse and a light wipe with a soapy sponge and the pan was clean. No scraping, no cling, nothing left behind. I can only imagine it would react the same way in your body and not clog any cardiac vessels. Thank you for the wonderful recipes!

Thank you very much. I tried the recipe tonight. It was very good. I added a little hot sauce and it was kind of like buffalo Mac & cheese. I did not try the pine nut or tahini. I think it would be even better. Or maybe using a milk instead of water.
