As a refugee in Davenport, thank you for your immigration comment. It has not felt safe or welcoming lately, no matter how much of my soul I pour into this country I love, it's never enough. It's devastating.

I used to love the peanut butter ones and then one day my husband bought me the Carmel delights I’ve never had them and now they are by far my favorite!!! And here in west Texas (my part) they are called Carmel delights!

Thanks for the tip on those blue plates from Dollar Tree. I never shop at dollar stores, like NEVER. But I found my local Dollar Tree yesterday and made a trip there specifically for those blue plates to match my kitchen decor. Wasn't sure they would have them since you are in Iowa and I'm in Utah but there they were! Thanks so much, they are lovely. 🥰

Somoas are from one of the baker's, while Caramel Delights are from another. There are minor differences between the two, and I personally love the Somoas more! I'm an avid Somoas fan, to my diet's detriment. 😅😅

Younker's was the bomb ass. I miss it. I buy most of my stuff on Macys.com. Not the same as going into the store, but they always have great sales. I have to drive 45 min to get to a Dillards. Macys is my go to now.

There was a time last month where I had a small pizza delivered and only gave a $2 tip on line. I was sick all night. I wonder if the delivery person did something to my pizza.

My oldest daughter is 9 years old (will be 10 at the end of June), she has been cooking her own breakfast for a while. My husband had to be out of the country for almost 2 years for him to get his permanent residency and I was pretty much a single mother during that time. My parents were a blessing and helped me with my girls a lot. They were the ones who encouraged my oldest to start cooking. She was 7 years old. Even though I started cooking breakfast at around 6 or 7 years old, I don't think I would have felt comfortable letting her near the stove that young. I would have waited till she was 10. Right now she cooks her own breakfast on the weekend: bacon, eggs and toast mostly. She sometimes surprise dad and me with breakfast sandwiches or offers to make breakfast.

I’m guessing that the Girl Scouts went down to one bakery supplier. They used to have two and that’s why the names were different. On the East Coast we had Little Brownie Bakers and they call them Samaos. I think Tagalongs are different names too.

My youngest son started using the stove when he was 11. He learned how to fry eggs and use the oven first. I worked long hours and it was nice for him to be able to make a snack after school.

I think that you should determine when your child is mature enough to use a stove and know how to properly use one. Shoot you see these 6 year olds on these cooking shows throwing down! I take lessons from them! 😊

Hi Jen, I downloaded the Fetch app, and it asks me for a referral code. Since I learned about this app from you, I need a code to make sure you get credit. Thanks!

At 10 I was helping my mom in the kitchen but not using the stove, I didn't start using it until I was taking home economics in Junior high, Junior year. I was 12-13 at the time.

my fave girl scout cookie is thin mints but i also love samoas and the peanut butter cookies.

I.like both Sephora and drugstore for make up. I prefer Bare Minerals for foundation, it costmetics for concealer, bare minerals for blush and Urban Decay Naked Palettes for eye shadow (and Marc Jacobs palettes.) I love Cover Girl lipsticks (the Katy Perry line), and Maybelline for the mascara or Marc Jacobs.

The Ace blender is the IP version of the Vitamix that also cooks. Don’t need it. I have my Vitamix (that I love).

I have a sealer but it’s Black & Decker and it doesn’t work very well. It’s also old. I’ve been thinking of getting a new one.

I don’t always fold my laundry immediately either. I just don’t have time to do it then.
