To be honest, from a Korean perspective this fried rice doesn't strike me as that weird (though I don't think it's tasty …). Korean's don't really use woks, it's quite common these days to use olive oil (for health reasons), adding some kind of liquid to fried rice is not weird (always add kimchi juice to kimchi fried rice), gochujang has a subtle note of sweetness (not like chilli jam, but still), and fried rice definitely can be "random" (using up whatever leftover ingredients you have).
