Thank you for sharing! I'm 60 and for the first time I've started lifting weights (machines) and feel so much better. But, I went through a stall since I'm adding muscle. I'm working on tracking results more too.

I am stalled so tracking macros, shortened eating window and committing to at least 3 times a week exercise sounds like a good idea! I, too, doubt my hunger cues and believe I need better information. It will no doubt help control excess around the US Thanksgiving feast and leftovers. I won't be alone when choosing to do this, so very thankful!

My mama weighed between 275 to 300 lbs all her life. I have always worried I would get that heavy too so dieted since age 13. My highest weight was 211. My lowest adult weight was 128. I have lost and gained most of my adult life. I found Dr Atkins diet revolution I got down to 128. Over years gained back as much as 50 lbs. I lost down to to the 140’s in 2014 because of illness. With low carb eating plan I Kept it off until last two years. Gained 20 lbs. couldn’t go to zoo. Couldn’t go to Seaworld. Couldn’t go bowling. Then by the time things opened up I had to have a knee replacement. And because of the pandemic I had to wait until March 16 of this year. So that’s my story. I have been anorexic in my younger years. Now I can’t seem to lose no matter what I do. Up and down the same ten pounds. I do thank you for your story especially about your mom. My mother was quite healthy considering how heavy she was. She walked, she danced, she volunteered all over the place. She was never without ambition. Sadly at 84 she got bladder cancer and passed. Good luck. ❤

May I ask where did you get your keto mojo meter in Canada or US? Thanks Also, about the weight loss, look at it this way: 3 lb/month is 36 lb/year and that is huge!

I love having many other queen – agers who have the same struggles to share our journey to good health with weight loss as a bonus! I have been on my journey for 15+ years, keto/carnivore for 5 years. Losing 3 pounds in a month is actually very healthy, Anita! Your measurements tell a great tale too! Thank you for your wonderful dedication and inspiration! ❤❤❤ Pet Teddi and Pippi for me! 😊🐾❤️

I always heard introverts think to talk, extroverts talk to think, I’m an extrovert and that’s true for me. Your talks help me to think and plan a little better. Thanks for your thoughts🤔

Congrats on your loss!! I have tracked macros since starting Keto in 2020 most often. There was a very brief time I did not and decided then that I needed to in order to keep me going in the right direction. Best of luck to you!!

I am hoping to gain a couple of more pounds in November, getting in more exercise (I had to stop in September because I hurt myself at work) and I am doing Rachel's dance a day challenge from 2 Krazy Ketos. Congrats on the weight loss and inches loss. That is terrific that it is consistent, even if it is only a little. It is still more and that is what is important.

I do not check my glucose or ketones but from what I have seen on YouTube you check first thing in the morning and 2 hours after you eat or 2 hours after dinner. You wipe away the blood after you prick your finger, shake your hand and smooth the finger to release more blood and then take the numbers. You wash your hands in warm water before doing it to help the blood flow. I may have to do it. I am having my numbers checked at the doctor in January and we will go from there. My father had adult onset diabetes. My mother said that diabetes ran in her family. Her dad passed away mysteriously. Her mom knew what he died of but didn't tell anyone. My mom thought it had to do with diabetes. SO I have been trying to watch all carbs for years now. I do allow myself some sugary treats but few-and-far between. so we will see what the doctor says. if they say I am pre-diabetic or I do have adult onset then I will omit all sugary treats and watch even more carefully. I may need to get a Keto Mojo.

Another helpful video! Watching you tweak your food program is useful, even when I do not follow the exact same. I need to get serious for November! I am really, really, really going to stop all nuts and all except a small sprinkling of hard cheese. Also, keep away from Stevia-based desserts. I think that I have to control the egg white protein rolls – just too good! I do moderate protein and healthy fats to taste. Each of my 2 meals usually includes a small green salad, homemade pickle, olives and a small serving of lowcarb veg with a fat. The Browned Butter (with bacon!) has probably stalled any weight loss for me, so I may just stick to the basics. I need to reduce my BGLs (former diabetic) and I want to lose the 5-6 lbs that I gained back in the Spring. It is not much in the scheme of things, but I expect house guests and lots of meals on December – so I want to be prepared 🙂 I exercise (walk) daily and plan to add arm weights. That's the plan at least.

Maybe you should Consider Tracking your measurements weekly as well, because with the higher fat diet it's not uncommon to not see any movement on the scale but see larger Movement on the measurements

    Hi Anita,
I can relate so much to that I'm 61 and yes I do have a pear shape also and once upon a time I weigh 245 now 167 I range between
160-167. I do have degenerative arthritis and spinal stenosis so resistance band are very important because we have to build the muscle and be able to keep our protein to conserve our muscles I do work 32 to 40 hours a week and I do all my exercises at home in my living room
You're doing great slow and steady wins the race I've always said that when I started this journey in 2020 which at that time I was 185
Stay safe and thank you for your recipes and your advices
