Thank you for your openness and for sharing your story. A few things you said have made me wonder if you have the genetic condition called Lipoedema? It may be worth a quick google?
Wishing you all the very best, Anita. ❤❤❤

You are very genuine. Great practical advice. I'm a 65 year old guy in Oregon USA. I've been on "dirty" carnivore for one year. Lost about 70 lbs and have never felt hungry. A ways to go and weight loss has slowed but it's SLOWLY working.

Thank you Anita. This helped so much. I too used Atkins for many years (since 98). I didn't realize it was dirty Keto but it was all there was. Now I am ketovore… some days carnivore some days plain keto. I didn't realize I felt guilty for doing Ketovore until I heard you talking. Thank you for your honesty, it really helps.

I have such a similar journey, tried every diet since the 60s multiple times, gained and lost and gained. Finally trying keto a final time since it’s the only thing that works, but it’s slow slow slow. Love your channel.

What a great video!!. Other than my Mom not taking me to a weight watchers meeting (although she went to plenty of them), I feel like I have been on that same journey. Thank you so much for sharing and being an inspiration to all of us.

Oh my gosh, Anita! I've tried nearly every diet you listed, including the HORRIBLE liquid protein diet. 🤢
As a child, I think, my mother worried I'd end up like her so she would give some awful drink mixed with water (maybe it was milk). Then she had the pediatrician prescribe diet pills.
When I look at photos from that time I really wasn't fat. Chubby, sure. Maybe I would have outgrown that in time.
But because I received the constant message I wasn't thin enough, lovable, it messed with my head and today, at 66, I'm morbidly obese.
I watched your video on sardine fasting last weekend. I had lost a considerable amount of weight when I first went on keto in 2019. Before I retired in 2014 (after my father died suddenly) I had some easy success doing IF.
I had a pre-op physical early last winter and was shocked to learn my weight and that I was prediabetic. I tried to get back on track, but this has been an incredibly long winter (still have knee-deep snow) and I fed my feelings.
Monday, I fasted for 24+ hours. Nothing at all. I had a couple cups of black coffee and some water with ACV (I was feeling some aches and wondered if my body was already switching). Tuesday, I planned my 3-day sardine fast. i broke fast around noon with the first can of sardines. When I get back from an appt. I was so tired and had another can of a different brand. Took a nap (I think it was stress that tired me out). Closer to 6:00 pm, I had a can of mackerel. I definitely like that. I had a second can as I'd planned to stop eating for the day.
This morning, as I made my coffee with cream, I really wanted some other food. I made an omelette and was satisfied. I just had a couple pork chops while watching this video.
I'm sort of winging it. Do I atay carnivore? Do I interchange with keto (I do have a full tub of lettuce)? I dunno. At least I'm doing something to get back on track.
You said something that prompted a memory. Dr. Berg says we don't lose weight to get healthy. We get healthy to lose weight.

Don’t we ALL have this “eating disorder “ ?? Maybe not one of the established psychiatric disorders, but so real. THIS is a mental battle we have to fight…

Oh, I feel your pain 😢! I will NEVER forget the day the nurse weighed us in 5th grade. Someone else was writing down the numbers. When she weighed me and called it out loud, EVERYONE in the room turned to look at me. Some kids laughed out loud. The next week my mom took me to the dr who prescribed diet pills…age 10

Kelly was my introduction to carnivore in 2015. I was desperate. Desperately sick, physically and mentally, plus obese. It changed my life. Sadly, when the weight loss slowed, I began looking for other things, but I took away the biggest thing, which was that oxalate has a very negative impact on my physical and mental health.
At 65 I'm so anxious to get past this fat life once and for all. I keep gaining and losing the same weight. Thank you for giving me the courage to keep looking at/for what works for me!

Hello! Thank you for this, I REALLY need help with something. I absolutely cannot afford LMNT, how can I get my electrolytes? I cannot find anything cheaper that's not got sucralose or dextrose or that won't spike my insulin or take me out of ketosis….😢

Oh Anita! Thank you for pouring your heart out to us!! A lot of what you said resonated with me as well as a lot of people. I found "Aids" in a drug store when I was in grade 10. I thought they were the answer to my weight issues. Looking back, I was only about 10 pounds higher than my friends, but thought I was obese. Sad, I know. That was my first spiral with weight loss. I went (mentally) down further from there. Have tried most of what you did too. I've followed Dr. Berry for years, which led me to carnivore. Then I found you! As well as Kelly Hogan and a vast more that I follow. As of today I'm 58 days in. Am focusing on my health before weight loss. A lot of my issues have been resolved but I know it will take a long time for this old body to heal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being so genuine!! I wish we lived closer rather than the next Province over. I'd be on your door step regularly. <3

You came a long way! Thanks for sharing your story! Not to long ago I watched an interesting video by Dr Sten Eckberg here on YT in which he explains insulin resistance and what it takes for the body to reverse it. The most interesting fact he talks about was that our body has a body memory – so the longer you have been overweight in your life, the longer it takes your body to reverse all these things because the body's memory is so strong and basically so ingrained, so it takes the body years and years longer.
In Europe, there is also the concept, that the reason why some people have a specifically hard time losing weight although they are doing everything right, is the composition of their gut microbiome. Very often these people are lacking certain natural bacteria in their guts that are present in people that are able to lose weight easier. It's an interesting concept in my opinion because by now we know, that over 80% of the immune system is in the gut and its microbiome. All the best on your journey!

Thank you Anita.! This is my 1st, (definitively not my last) Tuesday Talk.! Your words were so impactful and straightforward.! I am 64 so I’ve experienced much of what you talked about through the years. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing.! Your channel, your recipes, ur tricks and tips have helped me on this journey of getting healthier.! Since having no health insurance, for the last 16 years after my divorce. I really devoted myself to making better choices with my food, being more health conscious like I was back in the 70’s.! You are an inspiration and I appreciate all that you do on this channel.!!! 💕💕💕

Thank you so much for sharing your story ❤️ I too grew up as the chubby kid, gained weight with each pregnancy, and tried every diet. I found Keto in 2018 and lost about 70 pounds in the following 2 years. Then I lost my mom in 2020 to cancer and have since gained a bunch back. I want to try carnivore. My boyfriend is stuck on carbs and doesn't think it's good to eat only meat. I want to prove him wrong. Lol. My downfalls are chips and chocolate, but I'm trying to ignore the call. Thank you for having your channel and giving us hope that there is a way to change our metabolic health despite what the doctors tell us. ❤

Thank you for sharing journey, it’s very motivating! Your thoughts and suggestions are very helpful. In my journey I decided to focus on my health for one year via carnivore and relearning how to be healthy instead of a target goal weight and appreciate all of your videos ( ok, Maybe not the sardines 🙃 but the rest is wonderful)! Thank you!!

Anita, thank you SO MUCH for sharing your story! It is SO ENCOURAGING!! Your words at the end are so wise. I’m guilty of wanting to lose X amount of weight rather than focusing on improving my overall health. I’ve lost and gained it all back and am trying to start again. 64 years old and a chronic sugar binger. It’s a terrible addiction that has stolen so much from me but I’m not giving up! You are a wonderful inspiration and I so appreciate your channel and your encouragement today! ❤️❤️❤️☺️
