Courtney Luna had a great tip too! She says cut into 2.5” pieces & freeze. Air fry frozen @ 400 15 min & gets crispy outside, tender inside.

I’m excited to try both! I usually skip buying tri-tip because I thought I needed a grill/smoker to enjoy it.

I sous vide my tri tip for 4 hrs at 130 degrees then throw it on my unlit grill and brown it with my propane torch. It's super tender like butter and I eat it swimming in butter 😃

You should look into consuming more ground beef. You can find 100% grass-fed varieties for around 5$ per pound at Aldi or Walmart and it will provide a more complete nutritional profile along with more fat.

For anyone in California Safeway is having an untrimmed tri-tip sale this week, this means you get two whole tri-tips per package at $2.99 a pound. You will have to trim it or ask the butcher at Safeway to do it but I like doing it myself as I use the fat trim to create crackling or cut into strips as "beefy" bacon, then I cut the roasts into 2" thick steaks, then I package the steaks into Foodsaver bags and freeze for later.

If you can find the Tri-Tip Roasts “Untrimmed” there’s a huge fat cap like 1” thick and it sells routinely at $3.99lb at my local Safeway in Hawaii. I cut my own steaks from it, Sous vide them rare and sear them to crisp the fat cap. Absolutely delicious & so cheap!
