Bumbi, you did burn those spices when frying the chicken. You may like that flavor but if it’s black, it’s burned.
This is a one pot dish, there is really no need to use the IP here as it saves you very little time, if any at all, and in a regular pot you can control the heat a lot better when frying to avoid burning the spices.
