I am enjoying this interview, I love to see older people sharing their life skills with younger generations. I come from a family that live to be 100 or more and remain healthy right up to the end. Just think how long they could live a vibrant healthy life if they went plant based. I guess I will be the first one to try this experiment. I am 67 and have been plant based for 5 yrs, maybe I should get her book for my siblings.

    Great show, AJ!
I really appreciate watching interviews with people 80+ years of age.
I enjoy observing the vitality of older people.
It gives me an idea of how my personality may function when I (hopefully) reach their ages.

Commercially, falafel, and even tofu is often deep fried, say at the airport. So I take my own. I have only been questioned once when I made some Ezekiel bread vegi sandwiches. Depends on the agent. Give it a try, tho. One great flat bread/wrap is red lentil wrap. It's just red lentils and water. Many recipes on line.

Veganism is a belief system. We are talking about eating whole plants as a choice for good health. I am 84 and in good shape. I eat like an elephant… all plants… lol. I stopped eating animal products in the early 80s. Dabbled in some dairy over the years, but got sick every time I did, so went back to 100% plant based and now am maintaining about 80 lbs below my high weight and am pretty healthy. I take a little thyroid, and have a pace maker as my heart rate got quite slow as I aged. Quite common. Glad to hear from another lady of the 80s. Thanks AJ, for all these great guests.

For me, having switched to the Esselstyn "diet" a month ago, the hardest part is to do as Vesanto Melina suggests – stop eating when 80% full. I'm going to have to tie something around my finger to remind me because, when I'm hungry, I just eat till my stomach says stop. It's hard to reprogram to stop at 80% full marker.

Always love listening to Vesanto Melina. I have all her books, but I always learn something new when I listen to her. Can't wait to listen to Brenda Davis as well as meet her son Cory.

A great guest, someone who shows at 81 that they are thriving not just existing like most people do. Also for busting those myths about eating whole food plant-based food. It’s great too that you bring up the point that you have issues with beans which to me are a staple of my diet. Not everybody is the same. your perspective is always so valuable.💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
