    I've only got a slow cooker, but I can use your steaming method for sure. It won't be as fast but a similar amount of hands-on time. Sorry, I'm texture affected and a too thick membrane will put me off! If it thick enough to pull off easily, it goes; if it is thin enough to be problematic then it can stay.
