Nice tip about the water to take out the bitterness from cabbage – I made some korean toast the other day, but in the UK at the moment our veg seems to never be very fresh. It was unpleasantly bitter even though I used it the day I bought it 🙁 I will give it a try tomorrow and see if I can salvage the rest of it.

I love these recipes and all the energy and enthusiasm you both have. I have one question, when you say "green onions" are they leeks? If not, those are the biggest green onions I have ever seen!!!!

What do you think if I substitute water, a half teaspoon of lemon juice and a bit more sugar? I need this cold noodle dish TODAY!
