What a wonderful podcast. I recently started my journey eating whole food plant based low fat. And just today I ate my first serving of alfalfa sprouts. It took about 3 days and they were very tasty. I will definitely purchase the book and sign up for Doug's newsletter. Thank you!

To revers insulin resistance first you must get rid of the bodyfat and the fat around the organs. Best way is high protein (MEAT) low carbs and low fat dieting + lots of exercise. Thats why the doctors around the globe recommend avoiding high carb diets for diabetics. After your reach the low % bodyfat you can start very very slow to transition to high carb low fat whole food plant bases diet and enjoy the benefits of good insulin sensitivity. To blast yourself whit high carb diet when you already have insulin resistance sounds crazy and judging by my current experience its not working well. What does work was 2 pounds of meat per day+ vegg salads. I regret that I turned vegan because I gained 60 pounds of weight and you can't convince me that this is healthy.

Question for Cyrus and Robby. I'm curious… What blood type are you? My husband is AB+ and had very interesting results with the Mastering Diabetes food list. Some he tolerates well and keeps his sugar stable and at normal range with less insulin than other foods. He doesn't seem to tolerate certain fruits as well as others. I'm trying to figure out if using the blood type diet food list (veggies and fruits only) in conjunction with the Mastering Diabetes recipes. I have read the book several times and do whatever I can to help my husband but he's still using a lot of insulin. He lost about 12lbs in 2 months and his A1c came down to about 7 from almost 8.5. We still have a lot of work to do and everyone's physiology is different so we're not looking for miracles, but I was wondering about your blood types just to compare with other people who had better results. Thank you in advance.
