Maybe using Annatto powder would have the same/similar effect resulting in red eggs and it isn’t dye.
This is called "sambal telur rebus" in Malaysia and i think it's the same as indonesia… You're doing it wrong don't do it with dye there's a way to make em red without the dye just look up "sambal"
