We have used pork belly for many years in Denmark It is our national right pork belly we call it stegt flæsk in Danish (fried pork) we do it with potatoes and we do it with potatoes but your dish must 100% present to the Danes. 🤤😍
Popular Tokyo restaurant Buta Daikagu recommends pan searing the pork belly first.. remove the pork from the pan and remove the excess pork belly oil before combining the seared pork belly with their Butadon sauce back in the pan and reduce the sauce until thickens…. I guess this step helps to reduce the gamey flavour of the pork
Just discovered your channel and I’m obsessed!! Thank you so much for all the amazing recipes! Plus I love your sense of humour. The japanese box also sounds amazing, but I’m in the UK so probably too far to ship. I wonder if there’s a service like this somewhere closer to me!
Looks absolutely delicious, will try this recipe! Thank you for the great content Aaron and Claire 🙂
I had a silly question, but how do you always get your rice so perfect? I never manage to get my rice to stay slightly clumped together and I can't for the life of me work out what I am doing wrong =_=" 😀
omg, something else I need to make. My korean cupboard has grown but you got me with Hondashi! Have to go back to H mart. My grown daughters have been hanging out at my house a lot lately, one has a new baby and wants my help, and the other works from home several days a week so she comes over too to work from here. Mom, make us Korean food for lunch!!! We have been binging your recipes. So when I've finished making the dish and call them for lunch, yup, "CLAIRE!"
Oh Aaron, I don't know if I can try this over this weekend, cause I just received my Sakuraco and Tokyo treat boxes from last month, and also I've made Mapo Tofu again this morning. It's only the 3rd time since Monday…
Claire is so pretty and so cool! Your dog is cute too. May we please have a special episode of her cooking? Role change. She can cook and Aaron can be the taster. She can speak Korean with available English subtitles.
I've been watching your videos for the past few months and you've helped me so much with getting more comfortable in the kitchen. Having your videos to go along with while I cook makes everything so much less intimidating! Thank you so much Aaron and Claire for everything you do! You both motivate me and bring a smile to my face with every video. 🥰
All I will need to use this recipe is the sake. I will definitely be making this soon. Thank you for enthusiastically sharing the recipe and Claire's delightful review.
Hi Aaron! How do you recommend cooking in batches? Do you sear them all first then coat in sauce? Or sear and coat, then put a new batch of pork belly in to sear and coat (straight in the remaining sauce)? Thank you!
I’ve been going through your cookbook and it’s amazing!
Ah finally! I exercised tremendous restraint and waited, to be able to binge watch my FAVORITE YT foodtube couple! Today, Aaron, not worried about a thing! I am stocked on green onions and ready to cook! 😊 One day pls make DAKBAL! As a southern American that makes me drool hahaha When Claire speaks pidgin AND takes pics we know she's excited! 😂

Love the content man!
When you use sake in your recipes, are you using normal sake or do you use "cooking sake"?
Great looking meal plus Claire didn't seem to have as many dishes to wash. Meat 🌼 flower! Love you guys♥️
6:14 congratulations you just got married 😍 i need a blow torch 🤣
Claire is one lucky lady!
Hey Aaron, no need to boil the pork to get rid of the gamey taste? Was it present since you sort of marinated it in the pan? Thx
