    Joshua, I think Asian cooks call that way of making a dish "Manchurian." I suspect we call it "Mongolian" because of mishearing. It's Manchurian beef. Congrats on the cookbook's success.

    Traditional Mongolian beef would be beef with potatoes and carrots boiled with the bone and thats it, thats how most people make it, its just boiled beef
