Love your videos! Thank you! 💪😍🤩🍹
I totally agree with your thoughts on this subject. The variety of food, sauces, and ease of preparation makes these stores a must. Great content. Thanks for sharing.
Good call! I love Uwajimaya, but I wouldn't have thought to prep my resupply boxes for the PCT from there! I've added it to the top of my list for when I get to Seattle to prep my boxes!
I don’t have a multi-Asian mart by me. Each one is specialized – Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Indian, etc.
In many of the stores the staff barely speaks English, and most of the products aren’t translated, there’s not even a label on them in English.
Google translate using photos is hit and miss.
All of the above adds to the surprise factor of whatever I buy.
Culinary exploration at its finest.
I love my Asian market, but it’s really small. Selection is good and prices are competitive with regular grocery stores. I’ll have to see if I can find any crazy good deals.
I'm incredibly fortunate that i live very close to a couple Asian supermarkets (including an H Mart) and you're absolutely right about the variety and the price. The dried Shiitake mushrooms are a pantry staple. On the trail, you can put them in the cold water before bringing it to a boil and not only will they be reconstituted by the time your meal is ready (assuming 7-10 minutes of simmering/sitting) the water itself will have add a great earthy flavor. And don't forget the MSG !
More please. I love shopping international.
Great ideas! In Southen Ontario in Canada, the main chain is "Nations" but there are so so so many when you stop and look. And you are right, amazing prices for amazing stuff.
Where I live, Uwajamaya is the bomb!
